Why wouldn't they allow the option of Edit mode on ITG? Personally, i feel this would be great because people could REALLY make some nice ideas up for the arcade and performance (i.e.s: Quads, extra mines, etc...). Also, are they planning to keep this trend up for ITG2?

| Konami holds a software patent on Edit Mode. They're planning to include Edit Mode in ITG2 CS, but it'll probably be a bit different than the Edit Mode we're used to. |

That's for the arcade, silly.
They were going to add in Edit Mode in to ITG1 CS, but they couldn't for "business reasons". What that basically meant was Konami held the patent for it and we don't want to step on their toes more than we already have. We got Practice Mode though, which is essentially that same interface of Edit Mode, but they took out the ability to EDIT.

Or you can rip the ITG data to the computer, and make your edits to the songs in StepMania, and just play it there (unless you were feeling intrepid and tried to get SM to run on a PS2).
