Maybe we should add an extra box to all the machines in the machine locations to add extra information like how some pads can be shaky, crooked, broken, or anything else that could screw up your playing.

Anyone else thinking this?

The info would change too often for it to really be of any use, and this is kinda what the Location Rating is for.

Yeah, it's been suggested before.

What reason could you possibly mark a location for deletion *other* than the machines being removed?

Yeah, about the only thing you can't do with a Machine Locations edit is send the location out-of-state.

In response to the topic creator: yes, that's what I just came to this board to see about. There's a comment on the one DDR machine near me, and I want to confirm part of it and add my own comment...

For example: Because there are some fools that putting a machine location that it is not an original arcade machine, meaning it was a fanmade machine with a playstation inside it.

How about NOT put a general "comment" box ( up.gif ), but have a "Pad notes" box, like ONLY for pad crappiness on this arrow, or shaking, or metalic thunks or loose pannels?

Or maybe even have just a bunch of radio buttons instead of an anonymous comment sqaure which can be abused.

You rate each arrow from 1 to 10.

And it's entirely subjective and changes too often to really be useful.

I figured THAT, but I only went to 5 to save bandwidth

That makes no sense, to me at least. It won't save bandwidth, it's just an extra digit or character if it's 10.

Also, it is subjective really and you can't really find an objective way to do it. For quite some time there was an employee who would change the ratings of the pads to 10s and make sure that they stay that way for their own arcade that they worked at, even if the pads weren't "10s" or great at all.

Also, I was merely just saying that ITGFreak's Machine Locations just use that system.

I think he meant that his own description only went to five so that he wouldn't be wasting any extra bandwidth in his post.

Which is nice and all, but it's a teeny tiny drop in the bucket. Or, more accurately, a teeny tiny drop in the packet, since the odds are good that it wouldn't have changed how many packets needed to be transmitted. But who knows. It's moot.
