I've used those types of switches before... but how do you mount them like that?
also, could you include schematics for the circuitry? |

Im confused as to how the light circuit is triggered, is it just by the pad switches? Also what is the board in the middle (that the lights connect to)?
EDIT: Also what part # are the switches (i found a local ditributer that carries the MX series but i dont know which one ) |

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It look very much durable!
do you have lay out and instruction?
I want this metalpad too ^^
I have saved almost $200. I need to save little more to buy the best metal pd or build one by myself.
cobalt flux or this metal pad or BlueShark metal pad

i guess it is not important which mx switch you use. main problem is to fix the switches / find a way to fix them. then check on which distance it connects the 2 contacts, and then try to build a pad with those heights, that switch needs a little bit more way to be activated but is protected by parts of the pad also
on the upper left of the pad, next to the normal cable which goes to controlbox, there is another one for the external power source.
by using some electronic things, you can play without lights, with lights or just connect the lights even if pad isnt connected to pc/playstation (yes, switches are for both things. whenever lights of a button turn on, you can be sure that in game its the same).
another time consuming thing was the light. first one was made with 2 seperated circuits. so 8 switches per button. but the voltage was too high for the switches. now they only have a very low voltage, so nothing will destroy them transistor
the plans are still handmade, so need to digitalize them, maybe autocad or paint or something between. plans + tutorial should help most |

Um...
GIMME.
I've been thinking of getting a CF (I've got more than enough saved up. Could get two if I wanted, but I doubt it..) But it might be more fun to build my own. So either give me that particular pad, or show me/us how to build it. <3 |

Ok heres what I still wanna know bout this pad:
Are u using the MX switches wit PCB pins or the metal tray ones?
What manufacture are the lights? Where did you but rhem?
What is the circuit board in the middle ? (Other than power to the lights)
And basically what is the wiring in general? |

lights are revoltec, circuit board ...err no real board until now, handmade.
for the board using a tx2000 control box, for the lights a circuit with transistors. circuit boards are from the revoltec lights, just use them, dont know how they work
about the mx switches, sry, dont know PCB, i looked up the switches, didnt find the exact part number, but as far as i know those are some kind of cherry mx switches. but isnt that important about the switches. fact is : they are not clicking, not making any sound when stepping on them, and they all connect at the exact same position, so its possible to use 4 parallel or maybe more |

ive played with them now since more than 1 year and not even one died. i guess there are still many differences between them. using tx2000 colntrol box because know from a friends that they have an overvoltage protector.
but i also did some selfmade controlboxes (no more used gamepads), they all die in time because of overvoltage. so it was more easy to use a working controlbox than to try to implement that functionality to a gamepad circuit where even more work must be done while prize of gamepad and controlbox are relative close |

You say it cost you 300 something...but it's not dollars right? What would it be in US dollars? I'm expecting over $140....but then again it might be cheaper than I thought. |

Actually, its Euro. The exchange rate is about 1.2 USD = 1 Euro. His pad is homemade and he uses very good parts for it. It is not a cheap pad |

Well now....I can surely say for now that I'll saving up for this one then! The pad is sexy an all, but I must say it's a hefty price. |

Wait ? You will have to wait for the plan and build it yourself You can actually start from looking for those parts. They arent easy to find in the US. Just for the fedex shipping cost would be 300 USD I checked..LOL |
