Hello all my name is kritter. I forgot how I got into DDR. Also I don't have an arcade anywhere in this town so I can't play it,and I am unable to find it in stores around here either. So I just play StepMania and DWI. |

Hiya! ^-^
o.o; I'm Rita and I've only been playing DDR since Christmas of 04. I was goofing around at the arcade a bit before, but when my parents got me the game and pad for home, I started getting serious.
My friends and I try to play as much as possible to get better, but I can't seem to get past standard. I do standard for most songs, some I can do in heavy (AA'd Kind Lady earlier today in heavy), and Afronova... still stuck in light x.x;;
For now I only have DDRMax2, but I'm gonna get DDRMax and DDRExtreme as soon as I get money.
I just got a new pad today because my other one scuffed and the right arrow was stuck and it kept searching through songs o.o;;
>.>
<.<
I did NOTHING XD |

I forgot they had one of these. Might as well post.
I've actually been here for about a year now, although when I first joined, I had just started playing DDR since March of 2004, ITG was still in the concept stages, and I had never heard of Pump It Up. I also remember being excited about DDR Extreme US, which I was later disappointed with.
Now, I can do up to 9-footers in DDR (damn my age and weak stamina in general), I can do up to 9-block Experts in ITG, and as for Pump It Up, well, since the nearest machine is about an hour from me, I haven't played it much (about four times total), I'm just now working my way into Hard Mode.
I play dance games mostly for fun and the exercise, I'm too old to care about accuracy, scoring, or difficulty. I'm a part-time college student and try to make it to arcades on weekends. I'm also a huge anime fan. I live in the northwest part of Houston, TX, and the arcades I generally play at are Memorial City Mall (ITG2, Beat Freaks, Dance Freaks, Keyboard Heaven, and Percussion Freaks), Mountasia @ Willowbrook Mall (DDR Extreme), Times Square Entertainment (DDR Extreme), Greenspoint Mall (Pump It Up: Perfect Collection), and Main Event in The Woodlands, TX (Pump It Up: Exceed, DDRMAX2, Drummania 2nd Mix, and Guitar Freaks 3rd Mix)
So yeah, nice to meet everyone. _________________

I'm Drew from Calgary Alberta. I suppose I'm no newbie to the game since I've played for a year and a half now. General idea of my skill: Heavy mode, around 200 AAs, 18 SDGs, and can pass everything consistently except PSMO. Yeah...not much else to say I guess >_> XD |

hi, I'm Steve.
As you can see on the side, I live in middle of nowhere (Chattanooga, TN) =(
Unfortunately this also means there is no DDR machine near me anymore ever since the Hamilton Place arcade closed a few years ago.
I have basically started seriously playing DDR just this past month. Kind of ironic, too, since I'm one of the only Asians around Chattanooga (yes, Chttanooga has like less than 100 Asian families) and not only do I suck at DDR I haven't even really played it till now.
Yea... you'd think with DDR out for like 5 years already there would be no more beginners.... well, I am one of those true beginners. My mom bought a hard plastic pad back from China 2 years ago, but, like all cheap Chinese products, it broke within a week. Not soon after that, I went to college, so I never had a chance to buy another pad and dance again. This year, though, I'll be enrolled as a commute student so I'll get to live at home. After some research, we (our whole family plays DDR now ^^) decided to buy the RedOctane Afterburner Metal Pad.
But anyways, as you can see, I have only been playing DDR for 3 weeks, 4 if you count that one week of playing on that plastic hard pad. I just started doing heavy songs about 10 days ago, and I think I am making a OK progress. Of course not like AAA on Max 300 or something, but for someone who's played less than a month, I have made AA on kind lady, the 2 versions of silent hill, and I just A'd Jet World. Right now, I usually get As and Bs on 7 foot, Bs and Cs on most 8 foot, and C, D, and F on 9 (BS on most parts that I do pass though). The only 10 foot I can pass is Bag with 3x speed cheating and get a C, otherwise I can't even do standard in 1x
Some of my favorite songs are Sakura, A, Bag, Kakumei, Ghost, Tsugaru, So Deep, Xenon, Burning Heat, Dream a Dream, Daikenkai, Sync, and Pink Rose. I guess I just love all of them ^.^ (and notice how I cant get A on all but like 2 of thees songs )
One thing that's really killing me right now is my accuracy; I have never gotten an AAA yet, not even on light, and perhaps, just maybe once on beginner. I haven't even gotten a single SDG on light, the closest I've come to was some standard 5 foot with 15 greats. I'm also having some trouble recognizing some crosses and remembering when to do gallops (Tsugaru is one of those 9 foot I usually fail and occasionally get D if I am lucky). And.... actually I guess I'm just pretty bad all around, I can't read anything more than like 2 or 3 beats ahead....
So, does anyone have any suggestion on what I should work on first? I was using training mode today and doing Sync gradually building up speed, but that's not doing too well since I only got C when I went up full speed. However I did that on Jet World and got some crossing practice and actually eventually got A. Anyways, since today's training got me even more lost as to what to do next, please give me some feedback and advice on what I should try next.
I have both DDR Max 2 and DDR Extreme both in English and Japanese (yea, ugh, I... imported those ^.^) so if you can give me some suggestions of songs and difficulties that would be great. Again, nice to meet you all. ; |

Hi, I'm Bob. I've been playing DDR for about 3 months. I play almost exclusively at home (only had a chance to play on an arcade machine once so far). I have max, max2, and extreme for ps2 and a couple of CFs. I can beat (mostly AA) every song in those 3 games on heavy. My top 3 fav songs:
1. MaxX Unlimited
2. Xenon
3. Max 300
I have two goals: to get As on MaxX and LoM, and to get more AAAs (the only one I have now is Cutie Chaser - lame, I know ). I'm getting more SDGs now, so hopefully I'll be getting some AAAs in the future. Nice to meet everyone! |

Hey everybody, I'm Alex. I live in British Columbia, Canada and I've been playing DDR for almost two years. I'm pretty good at DDR, not great but pretty good. I usually play on heavy mode although there's only a few songs that I can play really well on that mode. I just like to push myself I guess.... Anyway, I'm into anime, all types of music, and some other stuff.... Send me an email if you're in Vancouver. Peace. |

Afternoon.
Name's Minion, I play DDR quite often. I play a mix of Standard-Heavy songs. I'll put a list up of what I play most often.
1. Bag - Standard (x2)
2. Love Love Sugar - Heavy
3. Paranoia(Dirty Mix) - Standard
4. Paranoia200 - Standard
5. Wonderland(UKS mix) - Heavy
6. V - Standard/Heavy
7. Mobo Moga - Heavy
8. Matsuri JAPAN - Standard
9. Sakura - Standard
10. Dive - Heavy
I kinda got hooked onto DDR by trying the only way. The arcade machines. Pretty addictive. After that, I bought a softpad (didnt modify it, mind you.) and started playing. I play the PS2 versions, mainly DDR Max2 and DDR Extreme.
Hope to have fun, here. |

yoho everyone --
Two years ago I purchased a copy of DDRMAX along with a couple of soft pads and have been playing ever since.
Sadly, there are no arcade machines anywhere around my town so I've been pretty much restricted to the home version. Currently I've been sticking with ddr extreme (import). I guess I'm ok at the game - I can usually manage a good amount of AA's or A's and what not, though the only time I ever passed a 10 footer was with the help of the trick bar during one of the few times I played on a machine.
anywho, I hope to have a good time around here and meet some new people! |

Well, I've already made a couple posts, but I should probably pop in here.
I started playing about two months after Max came out for PS2, mainly because I thought it was something I could do to lose some weight. I was tipping around 200 at the time, and treadmills and bikes bored the spit out of me. It worked in that respect - I played, got hooked, dropped to 180ish. Even bought a mid-to-high-end pad pair from BNY, which still serve me well.
I ended up taking a break for about a year, coming back into it this spring. Not because I got bored with it, but because I was living in a place where I couldn't do it (downstairs shutin neighbor)
So, started in with Max 2 this spring, then grabbed Extreme in mid-July, and cannot *wait* for Extreme 2.
I've unlocked all of Max and Max2, and just have one more dancer to unlock on Extreme (well, unless completing Mission Mode gives you something - I personally think most of Mission Mode is crap that actually hurts your game, but maybe that's just me)
anyway, you can probably tell which songs I like the best based on my choice of a handle here. I saw that nonstop and was just "YAY!"
Now, if I can just teach my feet to move a *little* faster for those 2/1/2 1/8 steps, I might be able to break through on the ultimate hardcores (the 10 footers) someday...
As it is, I've got *tons* of AAs but only one triple (Peace Out), but a lot of 1-3 great songs. So, working on "staying focused" playing some 4s and 5s, trying to get that AAA thing going, and also working on stamina and reading with the 8s and 9s. Except for Busy Child, the 7s tend to bore me.... _________________
