Celebrate Nite is a better place for double stepping too. sometimes people just cant do the spins or pivot backwards, so double stepping is easier. i know Gay Goblin double steps certain parts of the hell runs in PSMO and it got him a black flag, so play with whatever works for you. _________________

I need help on MaxX and LoM heavy. In MaxX, i have trouble with the streams/jumps after the middle freeze. I just can't move/see them fast enough to jump and run right, yet i can frickin AA Waka Laka Same thing with LoM, only in the part before the freeze instead of after it. Jump-jump-stream-jump-jump-stream-jump-stream stuff just seems to get outrageously difficult for me after 290 bpm; i've practiced MaxX on all the speeds in MAX2 training mode, but i still can't do it smoothly at all. I WOULD do the same thing with LoM, but noooooo- Konami left out the frick song speed options in US Extreme training mode for some ungodly reason So yeah, that's my problem. Any advice please? |

Advice? Did you even read the first post? As for training for MU, you're not going to play it smoothly until you can consistently AA it. It's freakin' MaxX Unlimited, the gayest MAX of all time, with all the stupid gallops and jumps. And as for the lack of slowdown options in Extreme US, you don't need to be training on a home version anyway. >.> |

Max 300 is a tricky feat for the growing DDR player. Lets be honest, even the masters need to pay attention. Here are some tips for that particular song.
1) Make sure before you try it that you can easily pass fast 8th based songs such as Afronova or Paranoia( Any but Survivor and Survivor Max)
2) The majority of the unbelieveably fast stream of 8th notes on Max 300 follow a simple pattern such as R,U,D,L,U,D,R,U,D, etc... Once you get the idea of the pattern, you can practice it until evetually you can get to the blazing fast 300 BPM (In reality its 600 arrows per minute, because they're 8th notes)
3) Make sure you read the arrow patterns in large blocks. No one's reaction times are fast enough to allow you to sight-read Max 300 if you only read 2 arrows at a time. Learn to see the shape of the stream and anticipate how you're body must react to it.
4) Finally, Don't ever stomp with your heels. It slows you down slightly and exherts more nergy needed per step. Stay on your toes. The only exception to this rule is blindingly fast patterns that dont require you to shift position such as L,R,L,R,L,R, etc... But, as a basic rule of thumb, stay on your toes.
Don't expect to beat 10-footers the first ime also, and especially don't think my post will help you too much. I'm probably stating what most DDR players know from experience, I just had the patience to post it this long. _________________

Would you guys agree that DDR is one of these games which anyone can get to 'yasu' standard if they just keep practicing. Or does everyone have a limit? _________________

if you want to pass max 300..... this is what i did
1.train on paranoia survivor(some people need x1.5 to pass(me))
2. once you pass it, decide your next objective is max 300
3. watch other people play max 300 and get used to the beat of the song
4. Train on a machine that has judge diffuculty on hard. (use same speed mod as ps)
5. If you have one , try a machine where the judge diffuculty is set to lower.(again, same speed mod)
6. Once you have passed the song on the easy machine, go play on a hard machine
7. Chances are if you passed, your likely to be noticed, especially if its your first time.
8. Go do whatever. (Maybe grab a drink to rehydrate you) _________________

Hearing those words and still barely failing psmo, maybe i shouldn't have played 11's on itg right before trying though. hmmmm??? |

I personally think that if you use your heels you will play easier cause I can sdg max300 almost every time and if I play on my toes it causes me to exert more energy then I wouldn't be able to do after the freeze correctly
I've only been playing for around a year and I found a flatfooted style is the best way to go.
I also think if you play exotic ethnic and cartoon heros a lot without the bar you should have no trouble passing max3
But this is just my OPINION. _________________

Well for the past couple of weeks, my DDR has been acting weird. Even when i'm on standard mode or harder no half-notes show up, i was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it |

...or if it's Extreme for PS2, check workout mode. I believe there's a setting in there that puts Little on all of the songs (it might be called "Workout Step", but I really don't remember). _________________
