I will stand in front of the guys who are playing before I play and even sometimes pretend IM gonna flash them, and they automatically assume becuase I am a girl I suck at DDR. And then one of them out of the "kindness of his heart" invites me to play, but I hear his buddies snicker as the await watching my buttocks jiggle as I play. lol and I act all helpless and convince him I am going to play on Heavy to see, and I pick a pretty hard song that I can do well, like my favorite HVam, and *ping ping* PWN.

The shocked expressions are priceless.

Is it still shocking to people that girls play DDR? I mean, you don't see an "Arcade Guys" thread, which is understandable, because I'm positive the male ratio on this site is slightly higher than the female one, but still.

I seem to be the only girl in my town that's never quit DDR, and also the only one that's really focused on PA. Prefer IIDX to DDR though, just because it's funner.

As a girl ddr player I get swarms of guys around everytime I go play . It's weird because there like talking to me while I'm playing and I just keep on saying 'yeah , u-huh , or 'really ..wow.. or whatever because I don't want to be rude but it's hard to chit-chat while your trying to combo the level 9's and 10's on doubles , anyway sometimes it can be flattering and some of the guys are really hot but most of the time it's awkward and creepy , especially when it's someone like the old cranky arcade owner or somebody's dad ! yuck !

Yeah these group of asian girls like 5 of them were playing ddr all on standard,then i got up there and started playing and they were like "wow! your good". And so we all took turns playing but they wanted to see me play the most since i was the best player there and at the end when they left they told me i was their idol.

Here's a 95%-true "arcade girls" story for ya'll.

While visiting a distant city I decided to check out a nearby arcade that was listed on DDRFreak, and when I got there, I discovered that the MAX2 machine was set to Free Play for some reason. The pads were a bit lousy, the monitor was washed out, and the volume was almost inaudible, but I couldn't argue with the price.

I was the only DDR person there, although there was the inevitable trickle of "hey, I want to try that" people who wanted to attempt a song or two since it was free even though they had no clue what to do.

Since I was the only person who knew how to operate the machine & start games properly, and in order to keep things organized & flowing, I stationed myself on the slightly better of the two pads and started each game in Versus mode, even if there was nobody else there. I went about my business as normal on the right pad for about four hours, and I always let the left pad run unattended on Light mode so that anybody who wanted to give it a try could just hop on & go until their curiosity was satisfied, which usually took about one song, although some people stuck around for several songs. So I pretty much played for free for about four hours (I took some ephedra* beforehand, so stamina wasn't an issue) while I had about 30-40 different newbs make attempts at Light mode on the pad next to me, usually for about one song, but some for only a fraction of a song and some for longer. For those who stuck around for more than one song, I offered to let them pick songs, though most weren't interested because they had no clue what was on the machine. Several times when a couple wanted to go together, I yielded the machine to them until they got bored or frustrated (usually after one song), but mostly it was just me and the stream of curious newbs.

Now, the best part of this was that the majority of my temporary partners were teenage girls, often accompanied by other teenage girls, many of whom complimented me on my mad skillz. I had at least a dozen or so rather fetching ones join me on the dance platform throughout the course of the night. One of them, who was quite gorgeous, stuck around for 5 songs (a couple of which she picked). She didn't pass any of the songs, and she frequently screamed in frustration, but after the fifth song she smiled at me and and said "Thanks for playing with me. You're really awesome" very sweetly before running off to rejoin her friends.

The highlight of the night came at about 10:20PM, after the place had cleared out quite a bit. There was a group of four girls, all rather severe hotties. Two of them did one song with me, one refused to try it, and the other... wow. She got up there on the other pad, and she did not get down for about 45 minutes when her friends finally dragged her off. I'd guess we did about 35 songs, and she never passed a single one, and she never got a combo higher than 10, but, god bless her, she just did not give up. She was quite the little fighter. She was panting and gasping and growing progressively sweatier, but she stuck with me the entire time, song after song after song, she on Light and me usually on Standard but sometimes Heavy. We chatted briefly between songs, and I tried to give her some advice, which didn't do a lot of good, but she didn't seem too bothered. She just kept plugging away at it, grinning joyfully whenever she got a Perfect (maybe 10 per song). Several times she was like "I really appreciate this. You're so good." In the latter half, we couldn't really talk too much because she was a bit too winded to speak more than a word or two at a time, but after each song I asked her if she was alright and if she wanted to go on, and she always nodded yes. Her friends kept coming to check on us, wanting to leave, but they couldn't drag her away from the DDR machine. Eventually, she promised them she'd do just one more song and then she'd quit, so I sent her off with Max300, during which I don't think she got anything better than a Good, but which she seemed to enjoy greatly.

Afterwards, we were both covered in sweat from head to toe, dripping on the floor, and pretty much everybody else who'd been in the arcade had gone home. After she spent a couple minutes of lying down on the floor gasping for breath, she stood up and complimented me and thanked me some more, and we chatted briefly before her friends finally managed to drag her out of the arcade, leaving me alone with the machine. If I'd been closer to her age, I would've proposed an exchange of contact information, but I decided to be a responsible young-adult and let a clean wholesome DDR session just be a clean wholesome DDR session. (Though when I relived the experience in my mind back at my hotel room alone in bed that night, I let my imagination run wild.)

Summary: An arcade had their machine set to Free Play so I played free for four hours. A cute teen girl joined me for 45 minutes and couldn't pass anything but enjoyed it anyway and never gave any sign of wanting to stop, rest, or quit, despite being obviously very fatigued by the experience. I think I almost gave her a heart attack, and I was a bit worried that she was going to fall over dead at any moment, but she didn't, and she staggered away happy afterwards. I don't know what the experience meant for her, but I found it quite arousing.

Fun Fact: Hot girls actually smell good when they sweat, unlike regular non-sexy people, who smell awful. Science has been unable to find an explanation for this.
