the things I hate most is when:
1.people shadow and aren't even listening to the beat so they mess me up.
2.kids that watch and ask questions WHILE I'M PLAYING
3.beginners who think they are the best and brag about it to their friends. _________________

Yeah...
New experience thing, but it pissed me off to all hell, so I'll post it here...
So I was at the arcade the other day with my friend Brian.
We're doing our last rounds, his second to last song, and I have a coin up.
These 2 like 10-12 year old girls walk in and sit on the machine next to the DDR machine.
My friend decides to cool down with a classicly used song for freestyle, Matsuri Japan Standard Little.
He lies down, and one of the girls stands up and goes "Is he done yet?!" in one of the rudest tones I've ever heard. I go "Look at the screen...does it look like he's done yet?" She looks up, then scoffs and walks back to her friend.
My friend gets off and I step up. I take my token off the screen and they go "wait no, it's our turn." I go "I've been waiting since before either of you got here...it's my turn." They back off yet again.
I go through a normal set consisting of Dyanmite Rave Oni (I forget which mix has the Oni difficulty...the 9 foot one), then So Deep (I did horribly...almost full combo, but I practically GA'd half the song) and then I decided to pull a Matsuri Japan freestyle as well, where you run off the machine around an area before getting back to the machine.
I finished up my set, get off and walk out, as they yell "finally!" so I spin around and say "Learn about the f*cking coin line!". My friend turns to me on the stairs and goes "Did you hear them?" I said "What?" Apparently, they had called us slow, and said that we smelled bad and all this poopy. We walked back by the arcade before leaving, and noticed they were playing on light, and sucking anyways.
F*cking...I don't mind n00bs, but when they're going to be little freakin...mm....<insert bad words here> then they can go and f*ckin die... |

Hey there, first post!
Well, I've noticed a definitive trend of you guys hitting kids in this thread. That is most uncool, in my opinion. When kids do that, I wait for the parents to sort that out. I'm too laid back for anger :(
Well, I've noticed that at my machine there is this annoying trend of the staff not fixing it up until it gets really bad. If you brothers want my business, then I suggest you maintain the machine. It only takes a small amount of time once a month to clean a machine out to keep it nice and frosty. :P
One thing that I cannot stand while playing are the on-lookers who ask me STUPID questions while playing. Not "Yo, what is that song?". That I can ignore. But questions like "are you a hippy?" "are you a vegetarian?". Yes on the first, no on the second.
I dislike it when people go on the machine and do not allow others on the machine when there is a long line. If there are 10 people waiting for the machine, you can buddy up and suck it up. The other person just has to realize that the other was there first and gets song picks.
People who just fail out when others are around. You COULD let them have the rest of the song. At my cade it is only a second to hop on the pad. Just yell, "I'm about to fail" hop off and someone will gladly take it off your hands.
Someone complaining about how long I'm taking. If I take a 20-40 second breather between songs during my 7th round and you just got there 2 minutes ago...Suck it up. I don't complain about your choices on the machine, don't complain about mine.
People who put their drinks next to mine. There is something potentially unsanitary about people placing non-descript coca-cola cups beside each other when someone is extremely thirsty and in need of immediate and powerful hydration.
People who abuse the surrounding machines when they fail out. The owners are less likely to keep the DDR machine in maintenance if you are kicking the scoot ball machines because you failed Max300. Suck it up and drop in another coin or leave. Practise makes perfect. Anger makes for lameoids!
Dramatists. My friend in particular is bad at this. After you're done a song DO NOT PRETEND TO FAINT OR HAVE SOME SORT OF RAPID DECLINE IN HEALTH. It is worrisome to onlookers to say the least, and with the advent of cell phone technology it ain't that hard to press a rapid 911 on a readied cellular telephone! It leads to embarassing situations!
Elitists and jerks. If someone isn't that good, give them pointers. If someone is being a dweeb, ignore them. If someone is better than you, congratulate them or shut your face. If someone touches you or tries talking to you during the round, ignore them. Like it is totally annoying when people go around wreckin' up the day at the 'cade because they've got bad attitudes. Not cool at all. Oh, and if someone is new and stomping wait until they're done and calmly explain to them what is wrong with what they are doing and what the proper technique is. If it doesn't sink in, ask them to play alongside with you. Go to beginner mode or light mode and show them...If they're willing.
Of course, I'm just a super-nice guy when it comes to the new at the game. |

Once these two guys go up right after me and some kid played 5 songs , and the machine was on free play(it rocked), and then they go up play 15 songs on begginner and then we went up and told their mom that there are rules and you have to switch every 5 songs or when you fail ( their mom made them play ddr) and she said that me and that kid played like 20 songs and you dont know how much it pissed me off. but yea i pretty much hate when people do that. I hate when people talk to you when you are playing. I saw this kid run on the pads when two people were playing and even though that wasnt me i was really mad. I hate when people laugh at you when you fail a hard song and they go up and fail an easy song, actually i hate when people laugh at you. I hate when annoying kids hit an arrow for you when you are playing a song and then you stomp on their foot on purpose and they get mad. I hate when people try to stomp on the pad really really hard and i hate pretty much anything that is annoying to any ddr player. _________________

I am a very easily annoyed lol.
1) When People use the bar on Light and Beginner. They are trying to look like they know what they are doing, but just becuase its there doesn't mean you have to use it.
2) When People laugh at you when you play, and mimic you, and make fun of the game. Well BUddy get your buttocks up here and give it a go huh??? >.>
3) When One person puts up 4 tokens and plays over and over on Nonstop.
4) When Girls try to play while holding their purses.
5) When beginners (specially prissy little girls and their boyfriends too scared to embaress themselves in front of their friends) won't TRY to play becuase they are afraid of making fools of themselves, well you do that already by just standing there dont you?!?!
6) When people play in Flip Flops. *hears the flip floppity sound in her head* *flinch, flinch, flinch, flinch*
7) When you are sitting next to the machine and get slapped in the face by the straps on Tripp Pants...ow..
8) When people gloat about being better than you
We already know you are good...we watched..you don't have to say a word.
9) Noobs who think they own the machine, I mean idc if you are a noob, be a noob. We are all noobs at some point, But don't be a doggy. No one should. But Specially Noobs who know nothing about the machine and the coin lines.

Sorry, half the time the parents are roughly as stupid as the offending kids, and wont do anything. So if you have to take care of business, do it however you want is what I say. If youre violent, so be it.
I heard over at Disneyland, parents watch over their kids and wont let ANYONE near the DDR machine while they play, for any reason (not even to put your coin up). For some reason, Id really like to get into an arguement with one of those idiotic parents, and then just humiliate them and make them look like a total moron.
I have a very strong dislike for people now a days...
New peeve for me:
People who meander by, and comment "Oh I could kick your buttocks." (As I played So Deep on Heavy) but then manage to run away before I can offer them to play me. Pansies. _________________

Are you guys serious? I haven't had any problem with anybody at any arcade ever. Nobody has mocked me. No asshole parents. Nobody has ever "challenged" me, or acted like they were better than me, or gloated or laughed if I failed a song. Never, not ever. Maybe the people around here are just nice, but I've never seen anything like this happen, not to anybody, anytime, anywhere.

Such instances are admittedly rare, but so be it.
theATARIbandit: You're not a parent. But I can tell you one thing, when you have a kid in your care (not even your own flesh and blood) you have an urge to protect them. Parents may be complete morons, but it still doesn't justify smacking around on a kid that hasn't even hit puberty yet. |

I have a new pet peeve...
I was at disneyland and this lady was talking on her cellphone, instead of watching her kid, I'm playing LoM on standard, not paying attention to anybody around me, so her kid comes up(holding a OPEN water bottle), and puts his hand on the left arrow, and I step on his foot. So he starts crying and spills ALL HIS FREAKING WATER on the pad. So I slip and catch my fall on the bar (FINALY the bar saves sombody ) and the mom starts yelling at me and saying "YOU JERK! WATCH WHERE YOUR STEPPING!" and walks away kissing her kid.(btw i failed, stupid kid) |

That woman was a real bumhole. You knew exactly where you were stepping, and you had every right to be stepping there -- any objects that happen to come between your foot and the pad are trespassing without your knowledge and you certainly can't be held responsible for what happens to them, especially since you have no way to look at your feet and the screen at the same time.
I would say that at least you had the satisfaction of stomping the child, but the child didn't really do anything wrong in the grand scheme of things -- children are stupid, and they're to be expected to do stupid things. The fault falls squarely on the mother. Since children are, by nature, quite stupid, and will get themselves hurt, maimed, and killed on a regular basis if not properly supervised, it's the job of the parent to keep the child away from such situations, or, when that fails and the child does get hurt, to try to teach the child not to be so stupid in the future. By holding her child faultless, he's going going to have trouble learning from his mistakes.
Unlike the mother, you actually taught the child a valuable lesson about life (and physics). So, in a way, you're actually a better parent to the child than his mother. He'll probably think twice before putting himself in the unwavering path of someone's foot again. That's discipline -- more discipline than he'll probably ever get from his mother.
But something tells me it won't be enough. With a parent like her, he'll probably be living at home in the basement drawing wellfare until he's 45. So, in a way, the mother will get what she deserves: by neglecting her responsibilities as a parent, she'll be cursed with a child who will remain a child his entire life until she's eventually driven into an early grave. _________________

I'm patient with n00bs, I really am, it's just when they forget their place and say something or do something stupid.
I hate when people stand too close to me.
I hate when I'm playing versus and the other player is always going onto my stage.
I hate pads not registering.
I hate shadowers who can't do the song.
At Jason's WR attempt, some guy comes sprinting in from behind on sakura or max 300 i think, Jumps past the machine, almost hitting Jason, and lands on the Ski ball machine to watch, Jason just looked away and stared at him ahha. he's like oh hes going for the world record? im like no idiot the arcade is half filled with onlookers every day...god.. _________________

3. People who have obviously never played before making a big show of it when they get a pass on an easy track. Okay, I know they need to start somewhere, but its no good shouting "YES!" and looking around smugly when you manage to scrape a C on the easiest track on beginner Level. >.<
|
HAHA yep, bar rape Light or even Standard then brag about that B or C you just got is a no no. I was really glad I finally passed CSFILSM heavy, my first cata, so when I was done I stomped on the last double and pumped my fist a little. That's the most I do. When I AAA a ten or even sdg it, then I'll really show off. Hell if I pass a 10 im going to show off .
I only bar when I need to to keep my balance or to increase my score. Like when I first started Standard, I had to use the bar on R&P standard. Now I only use the bar for weird songs like 9s and 10s, Witch Doctor, some other crazy 8s. _________________

1. Using a bar on beginner mode. Il augh all the time when i see that.
2. People who wear shoes that has dirt. I slip a lot when ppl do that. I usually ask workers at the arcade to give me stuff to clean the damn thing off.
3. Ppl telling that you suck when you are better then them. I've have this happen to me many times. I dont say anything until they play. When they suck i say look at you, you are the worst. They get mad and leave. O well more ddr time 4 me. But if they are better then me i keep playing.
4. Finally people having sweaty hands getting it all over the bar. I use the bar on 10 foot songs cause im not that good. I would slip after someone uses it cause of sweaty hands. When i play i would slip.
These r the things i hate |
