So how many of you guys out there are Band-Fags as well as DDRFreaks?
I've read a couple of posts pertaining to marching band and it got me thinking, since I just got back from Band Camp and we'd had DDR night on Wednesday.
I really can't think of anything else substantial to the post, so if you're in a marching / concert band in addition to being one of the Legion(evil sounding nickname for us, yes?), feel free to talk about it.
P.S. Holy poop, I'm sunburnt >.o _________________

Finished Band Camp yesterday. I play Tenor Sax in Wind Ensamble (fancy name for advanced concert band), Jazz band and Marching band. I have now learned that it can be painful to freestyle with sunburns under your knees, arms and neck. _________________

Wow, you guys are hardcore...I would never be caught dead in band camp. Anyway, I've been playing clarinet for 4 years and switched to tenor sax last year and (here I go bragging) I've made elementary and JH honor band and I played in jazz band last year. The HS I'm going to next year doesn't have a marching band, but we've got a pep band (same thing except we get to bust our butt on bleachers all game long and we have a $1 buys you all the Mountain Dew you can drink thingy)
And since there really isn't much else to say here, I play really, REALLY loudly. _________________

What about a Bass 5? Those things are frickin' huge! I marched one in drill practice once...Never Again! I love my light saxophone (I just hope my band director doesnt want me to march a Baritone sax anytime soon)... _________________

I was in my high school's showband before I graduated this year. I can think of maybe five people in the group other than myself that play DDR. |

P1 (snares) squad leader. 2nd chair overall drumline
I could agree with mavrik but I played 1st bass my freshmen year so mine wasn't as heavy as his. ( I should have ben P3 squad leader casue my sight reading score was highest but teh seniors culdn't stand the fact that a frsoh was better than them). My camp starts Monday
Anyhoo, Me and my one friend were going to try to write a stand cheer arrangment of either Sandstorm or Burning Heat. But you know how those things go, we all get too lazy over the summer to get together and work on anything. _________________

I'm a band nerd!
Unfortunately, my band director (well...the current one) is a dick-head, so I'm not staying in Symphonic Band.
Nothing could keep me out of Marching Band, though. I'm in the drumline (technically the Pit), and I love playing at competitions, even though we suck. =D
...but Bandcamp starts tomorrow and I'm going to get a BAAAAAD case of cabin fever this year... |

Well my friend and I are both ddrfreaks and in the band. I play Snare and he plays Tenors/quads. There are a ton of other band geeks that play ddr but i think that's because of us. We are easily the best two in the band. He is slightly better than me though because he can do max 300 where as I am a fatty. Ha oh well. Maybe I cant do it now since i sweat off a few pounds at camp.
P.S. - Percussionists are NOT band geeks!!! |
