Lots and lots of training, I guess. I can pass most tracks on Expert (ranking anywhere from C to S) - but not velfarre 2000 :-) |

....no not really lol!
for me, PPP was easy after switching from ddr. though at first i had to play on hard forawhile...plus there are only 15 or so songs on our machine so even if i don't play a lot, it's easy to master the songs. the hard part is making it look not stupid or goofy ^_____^ but that's what the freestyle part is all about! |

I can't even BEGIN to look cool on Speedway Expert. I mean, its fun to wave your hands and such, but I always lose my balance and fall. >.< _________________

I have a certain setting everytime I do the PPP routines.
To get other people into the game (innocent by-standers mostly) I tend to leave the character motions on, and the arrows on sudden. That way they could see the character motions more clearly and understand that you follow what the character does in order to hit the arrows, rather than just wave your arms randomly. This usually gets more people interested since they understand it a bit more. Haven't seen too many freestylers around the MGL area though... I just love the routines _________________

yeah there are a few people (like 3) that do the routines around here but most people(like 4) do freestyle. PPP has never been very popular our arcade and from what i can tell, anywhere. Tis sad |

agreed. =3 I had to be at church camp for four days. I thought I brought my DVD player for PP but... sadly, I left it at home, and brought the cord. Very unfun. But, I did end up just making routines to Max songs.... (that was the only CD I brought... ) _________________

I'm just curious, between the Dreamcast and PS2 version of PPP...what's the principal difference? (I'm assuming songs, of course). In that instance, which would you recommend over the other? _________________

The dreamcast version is a home made bootleg that is missing (IIRC) the background videos.
The PS2 version is better, hands down. _________________

Well, on that note, what would you recommend using so I can play PPP on my PS2? I really don't feel like paying $200 for a PS2 that can play NTSC-J games, since I've got the NA one.
Ideally, I'd like to use a Slide Card type of thing, where I don't have to deal with delicate wiring and soldering that I've never done before. But, I could always have someone else do it if need be. _________________

I bought a fliptop, but mind you, i never bought the game. I use the fliptop for IIDX/Pop'N, but it works. (I used to play a lot of PPP2nd mix and i now play Para para dancing on this side of the state, this is why i dont own it..) _________________

Fliptops can be a lot of hassle, but I don't know any other alternatives that are usually avaliable in most gaming stores. For some reason my flip tops tend to break after quite some use. I recommend buying an Internation PS2. Its worth the money, plus, I think it plays PAL games too (although I think you need a PAL TV... I'm not sure... I've tried Dance UK and it seemed to work ok with a PAL TV). _________________

What songs are on the DreamCast version? Are they just the videos from the DVDs with the songs from the game? Or, are they song from the first DVD? _________________

Well, Its probably not worth it then. But, if I ever find it when I have money.... I'll probably buy it just for the heck of it, even if I do probably have the DVDs it took the vids from. _________________
