Yeah, I would. Even though I haven't unlocked everything yet, and don't know what most of the unlocks are, (and I don't want to know), I think it's worth getting.
The variety of songs is good, unlocking is much easier than the last 2 games (and kind of fun), and theres also 5X speed, which I find useful on certain songs. |
WHAT?! You already got your copy of the game? No fair! Where did you order yours from? I preordered Pop 'n 11, along with ordering Pop 'n 9 and I don't have either yet. Maybe tomorrow 9 will arrive, but I still want my 11 dammit! I'm glad to hear that unlocking is easier and fun though. _________________

I got my copy of Pop 'N 11 at a store in my local mall: Anime Club, right on the offical release date.
Not only do they sell the usual anime, manga, toys, posters etc. They have import games (including some bemani) and rare games. I bought IIDX 8th and 9th style from there too. I plan to get new releases of IIDX and Pop 'N there from now on.
Besides, some people on Bemanistyle got their game days sooner than I did, before the offical release date. I think they preordered their game from YesAsia. |

omg since when did you start posting here again? lol I haven't been on DDRFreak for months. I'm just sort of here in the vain attempt to find a full list of unlocks for all the games =\
Oh, and my original copy of Pop'n 11 is in, so you can borrow it when you get back.
EDIT: Some of the more well-known tracks are Gradius -FULL SPEED-, Tank!, Rhythm and Police, Steel Angel Kurumi and Sailor Moon...I'm only halfway thru unlocking right now. _________________

Fuxin' A for those songs! I already knew about Sailor Moon from searching through the website but I'm surprised that Steel Angel is in there, too. It's the opening song that goes like this right? "Pawafuru mirakuru ima kuru! Hajikeru majikaru wandafuru! Ririkaru komikaru koi suru torokeru Mi-ra-ku-ru-mi!" SHIO!!! I want my copy now!! _________________

Nupe, sorry it's the ending from Encore. The "suki suki suki suki suki su kisushita!" one ^^
Mongol rocks! Cowboy, Western, Rangukakids...gah some of them I don't know the classifications! XD, Frost, Stars, 777, Murmur Twins, Votum Stellarum, Contemporary Nation 2....all good.
Anyone know what country unlocks Classic 11? And is Love Love Sugar and Candy <3 in CS? I remember playing them on AC... _________________

I do remember getting Classic 11 from east europe/russia, as the 2nd or 3rd to last unlock. The song sounds okay, but I don't think it's as good as Classic 10. And classic 11 now has a japanese name for the song title.
They updated Hamanov's sprite and animation again. And I hope it stays that way.
Who is that girl with Hamanov? His grandaughter? |

The title is "Thank you for playing. Goodbye!" or something like that, it translates over different, but something along those lines. 10 was better too. I played 11 once and I haven't touched it since x_x And yeah, it's the third unlock in Russia. Thanks =P
EDIT: It's "Thanks for the Memories". ^^ _________________

It's always cool to hear about anime songs being in this game. They even have the Anpanman song... wtf. And Sailor Moon. I don't watch cowboy bebop but I'm sure I've heard the song before.
Anyway... NICE. |

yea presumably you dont have to pick a specific song to get the unlocks, it just might make things go faster. like i dont really understand anything that the letters are saying but generally after a round or 2 of challenge mode i've unlocked something.
In other news, I just paid for a Desktop Arcade Pop'n ASC so I will finally have my own. _________________

Spoilers ahead.
I care. I didn't like finding out that there was a Contemporary Nation 2 when visiting bemanistyle. And Cowboy, and some of the ura unlocks. Which is why I stayed away from offical pop n 11 cs topic there. |

MadVash2005 wrote: | I played the game for a little more than an hour and I already unlocked three things: 2 songs and 5 x SPEED. It took me almost triple that from Pop 'n 10! Like TheWertle said previously, unlocking them is easy but your Japanese skills needs to be up to snuff because I believe there are hints for the unlocks in the letters. If you know your katakana and basic hiragana, you should be alright. The way it works, I think, is that you have to play a specific song based on whatever clues are mentioned in the letter. For example, (SPOILER AHEAD-Highlight to read better) one of the letters from asia mentioned something about soccer and making a goal (I guess). I played that one TV song "Kanji-something" Soccer-It has a picture of Nyami in a scoolboy outfit kicking a soccer ball. Anyways when the song was over I got another letter saying that a secret was found-another song. (end spoiler). Like I said, I think this is how unlocks work. If not, feel free to correct me.
P.S. If that's not the way to make text invisible (for the spoiler) feel free to correct me on that, too ! |
"High-scool Soccer". And yes, that's one of the very few hints I actually DID pick up
It does generally unlock stuff several times faster, usually instantly. I also noticed that your plays count even if you don't finish a song. I unlocked an entire unlock by playing 1/3 of the way thru Rap on normal trying to 100k that durn thing XD As for the Pop'n 10 unlock system....around 8 hours of actually playing netted me about 5%.it took about as long failing every first song on challenge and mashing circle to unlock the other 93%, and about half an hour to remember the christmas unlock -_-
EDIT: Wert, that's awesome! I would have never got my Ransai if I didn't buy it at Otakon. Now for that DASC IIDX doubles deck... _________________

I've been wanting to try pop'n music for awhile now.. and the only arcade close to me that has it is... well it's about 15 miles but I'm too lazy to go.
Anyways, I recently started getting some import stuff for my ps2 (just bought IIDX 9th style with IIDX controller today... and now I must pick up other styles) And I was trying to find the best way to go about getting pop'n music.
At my mall they have the box set that comes with a controller and pnm 10. I looked at the controller and it was a bit small and I was scared it would be horrible.. so before spending about $100 on that.. .does anyone know how that controller is? Is it worth buying? |
