even if you're not an all-star DDR player, I'm sure there's some flamboyance you like to throw in there for when you want to impress someone. for some it's AAAing Afronova, but it always depends on who your audience is. some people are impressed by psycho freestyling moves, and others are wowed by a crazy-fast song and steady stream of "perfect." knee drops, spins, robot dance during R3...whatever. maybe this is similar to the "what's your favorite trick" thread, but it's still a fun topic I think. everybody's got a different style, so post what you do that puts on a unique and interesting show. I honestly don't do that much...well I do a few stupid things like on the easy orion, I swing my leg over the bar while spinning a bunch of times (on the repeated down arrows)...and then onnnn...well drop out I end all intense-like...I think it scares people more than wows them...but whatever. anybody do any backflips? never seen someone do anything that crazy myself, but I'm sure it's been done.

hmm...what the hell is that link thingy up there? for "DDR" I mean...someone tell me how to destroy it...or else it will destroy my mind...but not really.

edit: maybe it's this weird computer. *hates PCs but <3s macs

Note: the Edit button is your friend...

I just play the game. Around my area, I'm right in the middle of a wide spectrum gap of players. Those who are better are infinitely better (AAAs on just about every song), and those who are worse are generally at the bottom end of Trick mode.

This sounds a lot like a pre-existing thread, but I'm not sure from where...

well, just because you're in the middle of the spectrum, doesn't mean you don't have some unique thing you do. maybe you figured out how to do some section of a particular song backwards or something. consider this a thread for "signature moves," regardless of your skill.

talking to me? I don't see much to edit, unless you want me to capitalize the beginning of every sentence. and my answer to that is NEVER! oh and sentence fragments rock my world too. yep.

edit: oh I get it...I think...earlier I posted again instead of editing the original thingy...yesh.

woo I'm editing.

I'll shut up now.

That was in response to double posting; edit your original post rather than posting twice in a row.

As to your question about the link, it's a sponsered link, which is programmed into the forums. Certain common keywords are automatically turned into links to make money for the site.

As to the OT, songs with a lot of stream and crossovers impress non-players: the best IMO are EE, R&P, and CSFIL: SM. High-tech songs tend to impress other players more, so things like So Deep, Cartoon Heroes, Burning Heat, etc. Of course there is always good old Frozen Ray, which always looks cool because of the spins.

He's saying that you don't need to post twice disturb.gif

The DDR autolink thing? eh just ignore it

Some things i do are:
Begin AM-3P with the crossovers then turn around for a few seconds
Near the end of R3, i do a completed spin
In the middle of Dynamite Rave B4-ZA or whatever, I turn around and start doing what I call a "Rocker's Jump". This really gets the crowd excited

Nothing too special really

yeah recently I've been getting the hang of turning backwards and some small spins (frozen ray/ cutie chaser...really easy) so yeah that's fun stuff...anyway stream is impressive, yes, but I'm tempted to say odd rhythms are more interesting, because then you're really doing some interesting things with your feet and body, and it's pretty obvious you know the rhythms are are going along with the song (like so deep). the sound of your feet complements the music, and that's really cool.

so what's a rocker's jump? like pretending to play the guitar and throwing your feet up in the air behind you?

heh another fun thing which you could do to be silly/impress...that I've never really done...would be using the bar to kind of kick your feet in the air or something...or for the jumps, you could do random spins in the air landing in the right place...if you know what I mean.

another idea...

say you're doing a crossover, for instance left with your left foot, down with your right, and right with your left foot...and the next arrow is up...so what do you do? either you spin yourself or....swing your right foot all the way around to the up arrow while keeping your left foot in place. I've never done this, but it could be very cool...

people love fast songs. I'll play Sakura, MaxX or Max 300 when there is a good sized crowd (heavy, hidden). Another fun way to impress people is freestyle or do doubles...

awesome find, but some of us are too lazy to look. imagine that, people have the same ideas sometimes. huh....crazy world. also, that topic is very different from this one. this one asks "what crazy things do you do to look cool?" and that one asks "do you try to look cool?"

seriously, there's no reason to complain if there's a duplicate of a thread somewhere. I could scroll back 50,000 pages and find a duplicate of one up currently, post a link, and be like "someone already thought of this." so what?

Meh i just go about my buisness playing colors- whenever and i do the 16th run in colors oni people are like, did he get that? Humans are stupid.

Just playing Sakura impresses them. (Their all like, "Dont give up!/ You can do it!" And im like meh. Thats because Six Flags is a is like a gatling gun with stupid people as the ammo. (wait, what?)

Basically anything that involves me facing away from the screen (Frozen Ray spins, EotC jump sequence backwards). Currently trying to memorize Let's Groove heavy.

I usually just do a players best non-stop if it seems hard. Yesterday we had one that was Paranoia Survivor, Rhythm and Police, I do I do I do, and Max 300........I failed it right at the end of 300, but it seemed to impress people.
