hmm..I'm thinking the "data" folder.

and if that doesn't work... copy other folders it might be in like cache or something and put them all in there. one of them has to work.

OR.. you could just copy your whole stepmania folder over to the other computer

(i did this when I wanted to put stepmania on other computers)

I don't remember if it kept scores or not though.

i want to make a banner for my Step files but what do i name them so that they'll show up?

name them anything, but make sure it's a jpg file.

It doesn't have to be specifically a .jpg file. The .jpg format does work, sure, but graphics will also work in the .bmp and .png formats as well.

Is there a fitness mode with Stepmania? Or is there a seperate addon for a fitness mode / calorie counter. If there is let me know pls.

hey everyone, i just put a second hard drive in my computer so i could run windows or linux. And i want to put stepmania on my linux. I am running Fedora Core4 Red Hat. I have been trying to install stepmania for awhile now, trying to do it on my own so i wouldnt have to bother you guys... but i have had no luck.

So, i tried to search the forums, but i couldnt seem to turn up anything to help me. Could anyone do either of the following for me?
1.Give me DETAILED instructions on how to instsall stepmania on linux
2.Direct me to where i could get a DETAILED description.

im sure it is somewhere, maybe even in this thread, but its 2:30 am and i want to go to bed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use Windows for Stepmania, trust me, it has a lot less problems.

Stepmania will only let me hold 6 game types. I have dance, pump, pop'n, technomotion, beatmania 5key aaaaaaaaaaand, para

DDR Mastor, Uh, try stepmania.com's faqs. I think they have linux info.

N'cha, If you just want BEE EM EYE EYE DEE ECKS/BMtwodicks/BMIIDX, then I THINK, that somewhere, there's a thing that is 7 and 5 in the same one type. But if you really want more...lol...then I dunno, try reinstalling.

my eyes hurt too much to wade through this 27 page thread so....

it would be awesome if someone could tell me two things.

one: there are songs which require you to hit 4 arrows at once, but stepmania won't let me do that. does this require another game mode? if so, where/how do i download another game mode? or is this changeable under stepmania's options?

two: why don't edit courses save my scores?

#1 What you're talking about is called Hands. They're in ITG and only one DDR song called Ul La La (or something like that) to fix your problem go to options when you play a song (the same place where you select your speed moda) and go down to where it says holds. IF you scoll over a bit you should see something that says "No Hands" select that and you should be fine

#2 SM & SMO don't save edit steps and never have.

I don't know why though they just don't.

Too my knowlege there is no fitness mode on SM, sorry. There is a battle mode though that is fun if you're playing with 2 people. Why they call it Disney I'll never know...

I don't know if this was tackled already or not (since its funky having to go through 20 something pages to look for this) if it was, could someone repost it?

Anyway, How do you get background videos to run on SM? I know they have to be AVI, but is there a certain size you have to make them as well as quality? I have a few background videos I made and whenever I play the song I've put them in, the background fades to black and nothing shows for the entire song. In one case, whenever I play a specific sonce with a background video, SM crashes itself.

Anyone have a remedy for this?

hi...hoping that someone could help me...sm was working perfectly and now when i try to use it i get no sound. In the rest of windows i get sound but in sm all is quiet, i tried reinstalling but no dice.

^ This is gonna sound a bit weird, but, check your video card. There MIGHT be a cable that is disconnected from it that goes to the sound card, yes my computer HAD this, I had no sound.

I think it has to do with the change to full-screen. You could try it windowed.

Or if you have EEEEVIL Integrated Audio, get a new sound card.
