when the load times are extended on Megamix, you usually hear the demo of the song playing while "1st Stage" is on the screen for a moment. always a bad sign.

also, sometimes when it comes up in ABC sorting, NO music plays, which is creepy.

actully, thats not true... if it starts on ABC sorting something that sounds like a piano will play going up the scale. at least at white marsh it does

i just wish Megamix got some of the cool bonuses like new mods and speed up the song function that other bootlegs have.

someone once told me the timing on Megamix was a slight bit harder then normal timing. i figure that is unlikely, but you guys seems to know more about so, so im looking for confirmation. i almsot wish i was true, then i would do wonderfully when i got to play on a normal machine laugh.gif

Out of curiosity, is it illegal to have an official DDR machine in Canada? I recently road tripped to the West Edmonton Mall (biggest mall in the world), and they only had Megamixes, Extreme Pluses, and the ocassional In The Groove. It's pretty weird that the largest mall in the world that has about 5 arcades in it has absolutely no official DDR machines anywhere.

Megamix doesnt have rate changes, you must mean Extreme Plus. i think thats the one with the rates.

There used to be a DDR Extreme in the Galaxyland section, but they replaced it with ITG.

Mall Of America (which I'm guessing is comparable to West Edmonton) only has PUI with the exception of a crappy 3rd mix somewhere in Camp Snoopy

On Topic: I just played a megamix at my local movie theater and the timings did seem a little more strict. Unfortunately I hadn't read any of this topic before today so I didn't really pay attention to whether or not the songs had been unlocked (LOM, Across The Nightmare, etc.) One thing I did notice though was that there were only five nonstop courses (pads aren't the greatest + I don't play arcade much so I don't so oni yet) with the exception of the players best and random courses. Since I don't play much at the arcade I don;t know if this is normal or not, but I remember there being more on the EX I otherwise play on.

I played my first DDR EXTREME PLUS a few days ago. One word: hilarious. The new arrows almost looked ITG'd. laugh.gif

mannyman9, I know what you mean! The closest "machine" to me is practically identical to that. I tried it and kablam I died on light on a warmup song I do all the time because the up and right arrows didn't even work (though they lit up) regardless of how hard I stomped and the left and down around worked maybe (and I'm being generous) half the time.

It was a big time loss of 1 buck. Then I tried a different kind of game (with light guns) and I died facing the first two enemies! And I fired at least 20 shots at them -- my aim is usually quite good.

Yeah, that arcade should be reported.

Is there a definite way to change the speed back to normal (or get the speed selection screen) on Extreme Plus? I've heard "choose a difficulty other than Heavy" and "choose a different difficulty than the last player", but I still seem to get stuck on 10%/20% boost every so often. Also, is it possible to tell that the speed is boosted before you get to the song selection screen?

That's the CRAP-O-CAB. I've seen that (DDR Extreme PS2) when I went to Six Flags Over Texas last summer. I couldn't believe I wasted a dollar on that machine.

I don't think I've ever come across those machines. They sound like they are a waste of machine components. goog.gif Oh well... I mostly find MegaMixes where I am. It's only a treat if I happen to find an Extreme machine.[/b]
