| I am glad I am nobody, that way I can be anyone I want to be and dress however I want to. This includes but not limited to: Jeans and a T-shirt, Metallic Silver Shirt Pants Cape and Headband, a Kilt, Brown Leisure Suit with leopard print 4in. platform shoes, and one of my personal favorites, a Giant Twinky Costume. |

O_O! I SERIOUSLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! I've witnessed it myself! I was at the arcade.... you know, minding my own business playing DDR with other DDR loving peoples... and then out of no where comes these two EXTREME goth girls..... there hair was alll... black and red... and one girl had needles on her skirt..and the other girl had bullets on her skirt... and they had this blood stuff all over them.. whether it was real or not...and they did the whole white face paint thing with the black eyes and blood red lips and ew! And we were all looking at eachother like "We'll be safe as long as we stay as far away as humanly possible!" And then we all got REALLY close to the DDR machine (I mean really close..... we all crowded onto the machine ^^;) except for one little girl who was going to play DDR who was about six years old or so...and the one goth girl with the bullets on her skirt walked over to the poor girl and poured popcorn all over her! And I was like "You can't do that to her! What did she do to you!" and she was all "This is my DAUGHTER! I CAN DO WHAT I WILL!" and she was all glaring at me.. So I looked at the others and said... "Lets go find another machine" ^^; the others agreed, and we all ran away from that arcade..... only to stop and find that the person we were following had no idea where another arcade was -_-;

seriously i feel bad for whoever is the child of that girl/woman especially if she just pours popcorn over her head and says she can do whatever she wants...but as for the glaring at you part i woulda ran far away because she probably would slit your throat or something |

this topic is now pretty much pointless. I've come to this conclusion
1.) Goths play DDR... ok.. they be people too.
2.) Most "Goths" that play DDR arn't Goths... they are wannabes or just "punks"/"ravers"
3.) There isn't a reason to be Goth.. no ones life can be so bad you wanna do that stuff.. its just a cry for attention... or they are just crazy. But that is my own opinion..

In respons to #3-Goths and emos are a lot diffrent. Emos suck, and goths no longer exsist. And can we please stop labeling people and lock this? |

Children, calm down.
For many years now, the label "goth" has come to mean a geek-arsed teenager who wears a lot of black. The old meaning of goth has faded, and instead has become one of the good old standards as a way for teenagers to stand out or act alienated from society. And geekarses, like I said before, often like videogames. Hell, teenagers in general like videogames. Does it really surprise anyone that any set of teens likes a videogame? Please. |

| Back in the Roman Era, the Roman people built Cathedrals, there were two kinds one was a "Gothic Cathedral" because of the amount of light in it. The word gothic orriginated from the Roman times meaning light. |

Dude, who says goths don't like cheery music? For that matter, who says goths aren't capable of emotion? Its not that we don't smile, its that we're serious people. Overly serious at times, definatly, but its not like the whole world is painted black, blue, purple, and blood red, like it seems to others. I mean, come on, goths like happy music, too. Just a different kind of happy.
If you'll excuse me, I think I need to listen to rottel-the-Mercury now.

To be perfectly honest about the whole "goth" situation...I'm stared at more for actually playing ddr than being a goth...
Unless it's a special day where I'm wearing my trenchcoat in 90 degree weather...yes..I am special...
I like attention...just not attention from unintelligent people...this goes the same for many goths, punks, metalheads, and the like...
Instead of beating your heads in to try and figure out who belongs to which social group...let's spend more time playing the game we all know and love....considering we took the time to sign up into these forums.
If this doesn't make sense to you...I apologize for that...I can't actually dumb it down for anyone.

Although some Hot Topics are filled with idiots...the types that make all social groups look bad...(kind of like the unintelligent ddr players) that doesn't mean that every single person that fits one way or another into that social group would be grouped in the same mental catagory. I've met people who could make you feel less than a peon just by their words...so perhaps those "mall goths" you see are unintelligent...but attempt to have a mature conversation with a true intellect...and come to realize that you're certainly not thinking out of the box.
But to be honest, someone needs to make the final point about this before it becomes a flame war...because mods don't need to see that...and neither do we. (Back to DDR)
If you're a "goth", be a "goth". If you're a Raver, Metalhead, Punk, Prep, DDR Player, ITG Player, Tekken 5 Player....it doesn't matter...just be who you are.

That, my friend, was the most awesome form of niceness I've seen in a "goth", a lot of my friends are goths, and I've come to the conclusion that goths are easily the nicest people you can meet, they're just outcasts who're shunned because of their opinions and style (which is awesome, what's wrong with you people?), also...not to be shallow, but goth girls tend to be really hot, has anyone ever noticed that?

I thank thee for the compliment...as much as it seems that goths are evil and scary...we can be nice if we choose to be. Our opinions are very varied, and trying to discuss it with more than one person in that social group would blow up into a huge debate/discussion. But some enjoy thinking outside of the box and trying a different state of thinking.
Regarding your other statement about gothic girls...yes...I agree...a lot of them sure know how to make themselves look insanely attractive...I suppose it has a lot to do with mysteriousness...considering it's a female...but in a social group full of "outcasts". If that makes any sense at all

yeah...I'm kinda goth, I'm a quiet person when not around friends, though I don't dress in black or anything of the ilk. I, like another of my goth friends, am fighting being normal. I'm hyperactive by nature, but have learned to control it. I funnel my energy into ways to be weird...or creative, as I think of it...goths are people...we play DDR, the arcade is a place where we share a common bond, games, we can share our ideas, and have fun at the same time.
