I am planning on getting a very extended warranty on an ignition pad and getting a new one at a different store every couple of months. |

I have a very nice little story here about my experience with this pad.
I started playing DDR roughly three months ago. I got a cheap $20 soft pad. It worked great at first, playing on light and standard. Then I got to heavy in about two weeks, and pretty much put a hole right straight through the pad. I tossed it, and after playing on my friend's Ignition 2.0 (which he had owned for 4 months), I decided to order a foam pad. The Ignition 3.0 was out, so I purchased it. It shipped quite quickly, and I set it up. Immediately I was AAing and AAAing songs that on my old soft pad would have been nearly impossible to accomplish. It made songs like Max 300, the Paranoias, and the Trip Machines a breeze. I had the pad for 8 days, which is when it died. And by died I mean malfuntioned seriously, to the point where passing Cutie Chaser on heavy was impossible. I got seriously frustrated, and filed for an exchange. They accepted this, but the exchange took nearly a month. My new pad came 4 days ago. I was excited to have a new pad. I had become a little rusty, so I could just barely C my way through Max 300. Only played it twice since this new pad has arrived. And now, the pad is once again not functioning correctly. I can barely pass Cutie Chaser on heavy again. The 3.0 is a piece of junk, from what I've experienced. I'm 5'8", 120 pounds, and I play pretty lightly. This shouldn't happen so quickly.
My advice to anybody out there looking to get this pad, is to try it out. If it dies quickly like mine have, just refund and go pick up a metal one. |

I have the 2.0 and its been kick butt ever since I bought it, but theres one thing. On ultramix 2 (for xbox) the down arrow wont respond. But on the games for PS2 the arrows work fine, and the pad hasnt gave me any trouble with misses or not responding, except for what I said. And one other thing is, the plastic under the pad has ripped(under where the buttons are). If anyone knows whats wrong with it for not responding on ultramix I would appriciate some help. Thanks! |

Since some people have no problem with ignition 3.0 and some of us have repeated problem, I though may be difference is in our play style.
Iâm more of toe player when I play at home on soft pad with no shoes. How about you, those of who had same problem with 3.0 pads?
Even though my problem start with down arrow, as I keep playing, side (left and right) arrows gets problem soon after.
I have noticed that inserts underneath button are warped on both left and right arrow. Corner sections are curled up which means center is lower then edges. I may be stepping on exact center of the arrow with my toe every time to cause this.
Since force is placed in small part of center, center will go down lower then placing force in entire arrow.
In addition, dense foam feels softer then 2.0 foam, which add more chance of bending the center of âinserts underneath arrowâ further down and may be trigger arrow constantly. They may made dense foam softer to achieve more sensitivity. But that may cause inserts to warp more easily.
Iâm not sure if I made sense. Any thoughts? |

I just realized what everyone's problem is.
YOU'RE PLAYING WITH YOUR SHOES.
DONT. DO. IT.
EVER.
If you aren't, then get a new pad, cant help you. _________________

I just bought a Ignition "clone" for my Xbox and I want to know how to transport it. I frequently go to my friend house the weekend and I want to go with my pad, without breaking it. Does puting it in its original box with the oriiginal folding would be the best solution? |

I always played barefoot on my ignition 3.0. Ask before you just assume random poopy and flame everyone in the thread having problems. |

I play with socks on and my pad still dies. I think it's because I play a lot and I play a lot of the difficult songs over and over again. _________________

Then your point is moot. You said that the people whose pads die are because they play with shoes on. I play with socks on and my pads still die or have problems (ie. auto trigger or a dead arrow, etceteras). _________________

I bought one and, like every one else, it died within a matter of days. Up and down both acted up all the time, some of the arrows would rapid fire, and most jumps didn't register. I'm trying to take it back to EB for an exchange, but they don't have any in stock. O.- I'm hoping the next one doesn't suck as much, but if it does I'm just buying a 2.0. _________________

You know what?
I'm guessing the thing has to be laid out for a couple of days.
I swear I remember I left my Ignition 2.0 lying flat for...maybe 2 weeks. I never played on it for that period.
I still have it working for over a year. I'm guessing you'll want to let the internal wiring laid out. |

Well, I've seen mixed reactions. So my conclusion: Buy it. If you get a bad one exchange it. It's a game of chance, "Will mine suck? Gee, I hope not." _________________

I would keep it completely flat out, but that's just me. _________________
