Memorize the steps to a song, go to a club, then bust a move in the middle of a floor with an imaginary DDR mat on the ground.

In a nutshell, no E13.gif Maybe freestyling would, but good old fashioned DDR will do nothing but maybe improve your stamina a bit.

As was said, freestyling might transfer. The only arrow-smash skill I can think of would be hands, and I'd think you'd have to do a whole routine of Twilight Expert's ending set of hands to be that impressive. As far as impressing people, I don't think many people are that impressed by clearing even 10s and up on the actual pad. Without a pad, I can't imagine how weird I'd look. erm.gif

NO.

Playing DDR isn't dancing. No matter how much it looks like it, it's not dancing. At all. Not even freestyling will do much. The only way DDR helps at all with dancing is by reinforcing your sense of rhythm, which, though essential to dancing, is hardly gonna help you do some actual dancing.

It's more like the other way around, my dance skills transfer to DDR. I agree, it will only help your stamina as far as real dancing, but if you plan to learn how to be a b-boy or b-girl, it will help you learn that nifty lil six-step that you'll use as a base move for pretty much everything.

No. DDR barely involves any dance. It involves rhythm, but not dance per se. If I saw you crossing-over or galloping at a club I'd slap you.

Looks like someone pays attention to Family Guy...

No. Not unless you want to look like a nutjob hitting imaginary buttons.

Um... DDR is a FORM OF DANCE. Regaurdless of how stupid it looks.
But... No... Even though it is a legitimate form of dance.... for God's sake.... don't do it in a club.. they'll throw you out of a gay bar even.

DDR just isn't the most social form of dance ^.^

If you have no rythm, DDR can possibly help. But like any other videogame, pushing buttons in response to a screen can only make you better at pushing buttons in response to a screen.

Reenee, how could you make a mistake like that? I had to fix your post.

Guys, one-liners are against the rules, and I've seen so many "no" responses that are just the word "no".

Anyways, the only time DDR has helped off the mat is when myself and my pal busted out So Deep Heavy because it was really really cold, we didn't expect it to be cold, ect. Made fools of ourselves, but we were warm after we were done. E1.gif

In case anyone missed it...
