Ok last week I was hit with a brick wall of reality. After being absent from the DDR scene for easily over 6 months my stamina is gone. I can still read the screen perfectly and my timing seems to have only gotten better with a break. However long gone are my sets of EE,HVAM,Cartoon Heroes. Now i'm able to get through one of those songs if i'm lucky. The ability is there just not the body. So here is my drawn out question.... to those that took a break and came back, what did you do to get back into DDR shape? _________________

back... into.. DDR shape? You were shaped like an arrow?
Just play semi-hard songs over and over again. You'll get it back. _________________

you could buy a copy of ITG home edition and do nonstop on workout. the songs on ITG are longer... so i guess thats good for your stamina. _________________

Just play, keep playing, and play hard. It took time to build up your stamina in the first place, and it'll take time to get it back. As long as you're persistant it'll come back to you. _________________

lol you guys are all basically giving him the same answers or no answers at all...
when i first started track/ddr i ran the 400m but when i was needed to run the 800m i couldnt really do it i got tired on the last lap.
the way i got into shape basically for track was to run a mile everyday stretch your muscles for a little bit even if you dont run that day to keep them from getting stiff and if u can go to a gym and just work on your cardio exercises for about an hour
i guess what im tryin to say is that my getting into shape for track helped me get into shape for ddr i was only able to do about 2 10's a set but now i can do a full 10 footer set with no problem |
