Something new, that doesnt rely on speed or a bumload of tightly packed arrows. Just an idea but if they put like left, down, right, up fast enough to make people spin, (I dont see how you could do it without spinning, tell me if there is a way) for about 30 seconds to make people dizzy , then add streams that are like in afronova (not too hard). BPM changes or directional changes in the spins would be another way to arf people in the pooch.
Just thought it would be interesting. _________________

I can double-step that basic spin pattern at at least 260 BPM (tried with Drop Out and Edit Mode--and I *do* mean 1/8 notes) and not miss an arrow. You'd have to make it even faster to keep me from double-stepping, which, if it ever reached that speed, would just compell me to use the bar. Oh, and it doesn't take 30 seconds to make you dizzy; do that old trick of bending down and placing your forehead on a baseball bat, then spinning around 10x as fast as you can (it'll be much less than 30 sec), and just stand there; you'll notice you're dizzy enough to make regular DDR play difficult. _________________

It's strange that I can't pass it, because I can pass 6 10s and even Charlene Expert. There's just never a place to rest effectively in the song, so Bouff still eludes me (as does Hybrid, Hand of Time, so on so forth). _________________

It must be on 50 beats per minute, arrows like bag, around 2:00-2:30 minutes, more freeze arrows, jumps, and suddenly it will move fast until it reaches to about 400 bpm.. Den, returns to 50 bpm.. The song ends with a down arrow that you will wait for 30 seconds... Give the beat like traditional japanese guitars and when the bpm reaches 400, make it like the combination of the MAX series. Then. a voice will go, AAAAAAAAAA for 30 seconds and then the down arrow will show up.! Cool! _________________

In all likelihood, to make a song that wasn't just fast and intense, but rather focused in on technique, we could very well see a DDR version of Oasis Expert. Use freeze arrows to force players into performing complex spins/crossovers. Make it a relatively slow song (Oasis is 145, compared to most of our 10s on DDR) with just enough 1/16 notes to keep some speed factor. _________________

Something dat should keep going fast & then slow & so on. If it's a new Max (Which I'm pretty sure), it should be called.......EXTREME TO THE MAXX!!! |

One day, I was thinking about this very topic...
I came up with an idea for a song called "chaos"...and although it would have a fair amount of chaos in it, that isn't necessarily the reasoning behind it.
Imagine if you will, a song that sets around 140 BPM to start off. Starts off reasonably with some of the more advanced gallops and 1/16 trips and spins that you'll find in various 9-footers. Basically, we've got So Deep at the moment with the inclusion of spins.
Suddenly, the incorporation of tempo shifts. Various types that could swing the song from 140 to 190, 190 to 250, 250 back down to 125...all in various five to ten second gaps. I think there's a song that goes upward in this respect on ITG...is it Vertex? I wouldn't know for sure, as I've only played ITG once ever.
Now, a long-standing favorite of mine is patterned (or even non-patterned) pauses in the track. I love So Fabulous, So Fierce for this reason. Throw in some of those pauses amidst the varying tempo shifts and spins and it gets a little crazier.
I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'd love to see pauses in the midst of fast-moving freeze notes. Nothing quite like stepping through a series of rapidly moving freeze notes (a la Maxx Unlimited) just to have a pause point halfway through one that makes you let up for a second to reconsider your next several steps. Maybe even one as long as Ecstasy just to really bug players.
And to top it all off, how about a quasi-death run...a 260-330ish 1/8th note death run that incoporates a little of the problems of above amidst it...nothing quite like running at that speed just to have a sudden tempo drop to 140 again, then to 65 as more notes pile up and it becomes more apparent that you're still in a death run, but with a more awkward read to adjust to at the moment. Maybe even a quick pause admist the run, a la HVAM.
To finish, either do so at 300+ or at about 15...in the case of 300+, do it with one long freeze note followed by a 1/16th note (or worse) directly underneath said note. In the case of the 15, a set of quick freeze notes with a second accompanying step directly under each of those in the same fashion.
...only thing I wonder is...would this be a 10 or perhaps something a bit higher? |

They should have the level thing go crazy in the meter, (just like random/roulette on Extreme) |

i think it should be 300bpm+, it should follow the music well (good luck) because the song is a blend of all of the ten footers and above (not a nonstop mix, just clips of the songs). Finally, it should be named

I like the idea of a fast scroll/high BPM that then slows down suddenly, as in youd have to have jedi freaking reflexes to know when to slow down if it was your first time playing. Also, something not meant for bar raping. I have nothing against it, but alot of the maxs and PSM/PS can be done with the bar, but I want something thatd break a bar users wrists should they try it on something- a get up and MOVE song.
Sound-wise... Something like 5-600, or roughly twice as fast as max 300. It wouldnt really sound like any of the maxs or paranoias, though.
Or I could just be totally unorigional, and suggest a Max-Paranoia mix. Dunno how thatd all work, but eh... |

Or just something like LoM at its real bpm, not that double-time 300+ speed they always do. Scrunch it. _________________

The song should be either slow BPM(160 or something) and pure 1/16's stream. I guess you can call that voltage. Or just take an eight footer and make the duration 3 times longer. True endurance. How many of you could do A for 4 minutes? ( enough time to microwave 2 burritos) _________________

1/16 note stream at 160 is just 1/8 note stream at 320. Welcome to the ending run of MaxX Unlimited. What you describe would just be like Pandemonium except 10 beats slower and ~30 seconds shorter. A Delirium-like song is more realistic for the kind of stream you suggest (except it wouldn't be 20 measures long, as Delirium is); easy as pie for most of the song, a pretty killer ending run. _________________

Oh oh! I know it should be....
Nothing. No one cares about Konami's ten footers. There is no more arcade DDR and no sensible 10-abled player would buy a DDR homemix. Seriously, the perfect windows in UM2 and Ex2 are as big as Konami's genre patents are rediculous.

It should start out like Max 300 at 300 bpm, after about 30 seconds go to 333 bpm with maxX Unlimited tunes added in, then add in the backround music of legend of max, finally boost into the insane 600 bpm of max. then have the complete stop. Afterwards, It should then go into some of the slow parts of Sakura then slow down to 50 bpm and have bag like rythems and have a second complete stop. For the finale, It would boost into the deathruns of Psmo and then end with a long freeze.
The duration of the song would be about 3 mins long and require large a amount of stamina. | 3 minutes!?!?! uh no!!! that would be wayyy too hard (for me at least) _________________
