Clearly, Konami wants to cover its arse in the event of a terrible accident while playing DDR. You'll see that all of that (blah blah) also discusses the risk of seizures, and suggest that players take half-hour breaks for every hour of playing. In short, the warnings go overboard out of caution.

Caution can be a good thing. I'm sure someone somewhere has died from playing DDR. Thousands of people die every day from cardiac arrest directly related to too much physical activity. So unless you own a defibulator-mabob I wouldn't push it too far.

but still, If anything happens to your child, YOU are responsible and you can't do anything about it if anything happens to you or your baby while playing DDR, what if you slip and fall? You will be held liable for anything due to that fact that Konami put that warning up there.

Yeah this is going to sound stupid, but with my first child I played up until my 8th month. I discussed it with my doctor beforehand, which you should ALWAYS do no matter what, and she said it was perfectly fine as long as my heart rate didn't skyrocket out of control. Just make sure you keep good eating/exercising habits & don't forget your prenatals and you'll be fine. E13.gif

Actually, during the whole thing, I felt the best I ever was in my life. I was still playing 8-9 foot songs and getting better scores than before. Just bear in mind that all the extra weight in front tends to throw off your balance, so bar-rape if necessary & stop immediately if you have any discomfort at all. nono.gif

Pregnancy is different for every person, so always check with your doctor before pursuing any physical activity, especially one as strenuous as DDR/ITG. Depending on your health before your pregnancy, it can range from being recommended to not play at all to being able to keep up the pace a little below your current playing level (which was what happened with me). If you are still able to play, make sure to have adequate bust/back support (wear sport bras if you possibly can, which you should be doing anyway laugh.gif), stay plenty hydrated, and don't overexert yourself. Take 5-10 minute breaks every half-hour or so to prevent overexhaustion.

Personally, I feel a lot of women don't get enough exercise during this time of life, being too afraid they might irreversibly harm their child with unnecessary physical activity. Just use your common sense, consult/follow your doctor's advice, and you'll do just fine.

I was able to keep playing like I did for the whole ordeal, and ended up having a very smooth pregnancy/birth overall. Our son is almost a year old and is healthy, very active and smart as a whip. E4.gif I'm also currently about 5 months pregnant again, am following the same regimen, and always feel better after some good exercise.

Sorry for the long arse-post but since I think most people here haven't quite had the same experience I have, it would have been better to offer my insight on the subject. I'll probably end up getting flamed for it too, but I don't really care. E15.gif

I support pregnant DDR! thumb.gif

DDR is NOT ordinary aerobics. I hope, for your sake, you won't be a selfish idiot. Ever heard of walking?

I don't think the baby would abort unless you failed a matrix walk or fell down or something

Quoted for muthafucking emphasis. Also, big ups to Sobegrrl for that last comment.

Trust a physician, not a bunch of teenage boys* who know nothing about pregnancy.

*DDR's largest demographic base.
