Unfortunately, my latest venture was with size 13, heavy basketball shoes. I was not exactly prepared for a rough day of 10+ games of DDR. Usually, I use my beat-up brown, leather shoes. They're loose and comfortable, yet go where I tell them. Much better than basketball shoes. |

Honestly, I really can't afford $60 shoes - my Vans only cost me $35 and they do everything I throw at them great, like DDR, comfy shoes for school, a bit of skateboarding, walking, ect, and they look cool, too. Its not a matter of "posing", its a matter of "my mom said I can't get the $60 DCs I want, but she said I could get these $35 Vans" - its kinda hard for me to shop for my own shoes because I want what I want, I don't want it unless I like it, and at the time, I didn't have a job. Which meant I was lucky to get new shoes once every few months, simply because the shoes I like cost so much. Perhaps now that I have a job, I can remedy that _________________

Oh dude and that fact that this is a DDR thread about what you are wearing doesnt really make vans poser shoes since he isnt skating. |

I Love my Nike Frees They weigh practically nothing and have cushioning in all the right places
as for generic suggestions: usually Tennis tennis shoes (actually for tennis) and running shoes have worked best for me, as I usually play on my toes (CF and arcade) but they aren't bad for flatfooting either (have to for quick doublesteps like electro tuned heavy (just an example)
Oh, and DR. Schoals are a godsend! |

When I play at home (which is 90% of the time) I play barefoot or in socks. When I play at the arcade, though, I wear my customized black Converse All-Stars (high tops). I painted them myself and I'm very proud. _________________

Is it possible to play in platforms? I've always wanted to go totally retro for one day and school someone in platforms. It would make a really hot performance. |

I'm shoeless, as I've playing at home on the foam pad. Don't want to tear it up. Cost be $100 (new brand). :o
Would rather play with shoes, as i think the pounding on the mat is molding my feet into positions I wouldn't like. IF I had my tough boots on, wouldn't have to worry about that I guess. |

Nike shox or Birkenstocks. Depends on if I'm going out specifically just to DDR or just at the mall and happen to be by an arcade. |

hmm.. I used to play in vans, but the backs wear out, start to hurt, and make my heels bleed all over the dance pad . So, now, I either play in just my socks, or in an old pair of nikes... _________________
