I've only been to the arcade with ITG2 once so far. Last time I went there, I was the 1st one in the place. I stared at the godly ITG2 machine, notice all the flashing lights and music. But one thing, I can't put my finger on.......
The screen was blank.

I waited awhile playing DDR, then decide to yell at the ITG2 machine.
Strangely it worked. The screen was not blank anymore, and the graphics showed up. But I know there is something a little more better than yelling at a machine.

I'm afraid now. If I should go back in the arcade and find the ITG2 machine with a blank screen. What does it mean? What do I do? Is there like a way to activate the screen? Is it some kind of power save, like a pc?

What time did you go? Opening time or something?

Yeah, since you did say that you were the first one there... then the conclusion is found. This happened to me once, also, with a DDR machine down in Florida when i was on vacation. Basically, i must have still been loeading up all the data for the game to start. If not, then i'm at a loss of words. Something like that shouldn't necessarily 'scare' you, per se. Possibly make you mad and irriated.... but something tells me it won't happen again and it was just an odd twist of events.

I've seen an ITG1 machine boot up. The screen is a blank black screen and eventually a white X comes up like in the middle of the screen. The boxor/machine is just booting up all that stuff.

Went back to the place today........
I wasn't faced with a blank screen today, but something more worse.
The machine was out of order.
God damn it, how could this have happened!!!

The thing about the first time I witnessed that blank screen days ago.
I was certain as hell that it wasn't booting up.
As I decided to be stupid to put in some quarters to see what would happen.
I heard the music and voice telling me to choose a game mode.
Then heard the music selection screen. I used the buttons to scroll through the song list, I could hear the sound of scrolling, and preview of songs, but nothing showed up on the screen. But black.

Now that the machine is out of order today, I wonder if the ITG 2 machine in my area is jinxed.

The same exact thing happens all the time at my local arcade (CVGL, but its an ITG1 machine). We have no idea what it is, but I like to think that its an mod created by RoXor called "auto-stealth." Pretty insane stuff...

WAIT, NO, HOLD IT!

The Lost City (my local arcade) had this SAME problem a few weeks ago, and it put the machine out for almost a week.

...You guys need to replace your screen.

Sometimes, problems can happen in transit or in installation of any large device such as a cabinet. It's an unfortunate turn of events.

In a related story, the most recent ITG2 cabinet in my area ended up getting complaints in less than 36 hours about the pads sticking. *shrugs* :-\

I'm leaning towards the game was booting up idea--I work at a movie theatre with an arcade, and every morning we have to boot all the games up. Some games take upwards of 2-3 minutes to boot up before they're playable.

Your boxor may be operational but the monitor may be broken. I know this as one of the nearby locations has "auto-stealth" on. The music will play and all that and you can only play if you've memorized or know the steps as the screen is inoperational. Perhaps the same is occuring at your location as well.

Well, I'm not the best with ITG machines, but you could try something as primative as just giving the screen a whack riiight.gif

I'll have to check my locale in two days, see what the situation had become.
Hopefully nothing was seriously wrong, and was fixed quickly.
