If you go to ParaParaParadise.net they have some sim files. I think you have to download something for them (I don't know, I'm not a technophile ).
I like your idea about the Pump thing, but the PPP controller is different than PIU's. Sure they both have five panels, but PPP uses infrared sensors. As easy as it is to get that kind of technology out on the market, I'm not too sure about combining that kind of technology with the one like PIU. Then again, as I've said, what would I know? _________________

ok what i mean is....
ya know how you have to tell SM that the left pad arrow is the same as pressing the left arrow key on the keyboard? well you can just say that the middle PPP sensor is like pressing the center button in PIU....if that makes sense to any of you.... can someone explain better? i think it would work.....though it would just be easeier to grab the para add on. |

I know what you mean by the directional thing, but you still have to get something to recognize the whole infrared thing and junk like that (I think it is infrared, not sure, I can't remember).
Anyways, if I were brave, and had a computer I could sacrifice, I'd just plug in my PPP controller into my computer and see what happens (although, I have been looking for a reason to get rid of my old Dell laptop... heeheehee). _________________

All that happens when you plug it into a PC is that it recognizes it as a Generic HID Device and that's it... What you would need to be willing to sacrafice is a PPP controller and figure out exactly how it works. |

Well, I sure am lacking in that. And money for that matter. I also lack the skills that are necessary to understand this kind of stuff. I guess plugging a PPP controller into a PC is like plugging a PIU pad (for PC) into a PS2. I figured it would just recognize it as some sort of USB device (that tends to happen a lot when I'm trying to hook up my PSP to my PC), but sometimes you can ruin an outlet by plugging something in there that shouldn't be there (like ruining one's video card by having someone stupid trying to plug your keyboard into it... ). _________________

o_0.....
if you look on the stepmania site they say that the PPP controller is "not yet" compatible...meaning they've been working on it but that's been there a loooong time. |

Let's just say that having a sister who likes to experiment with your computer while not understanding exactly what goes where, is NOT all that it's cracked up to be....
I hope they get the PPP controller working for PC, cause even though the controller gets in my way (long legs... ) it can be helpful with arrows guiding you (though annoying sometimes), plus, it is easier for a LOT of people. _________________

i tried that site and it didn't work for me and i couldn't figure it out and i got bored and distracted and i might have ADD....
but yeah i notice when i play at the arcade that sometimes when i'm stepin to the music my feet hit the sensors which can do bad things!
ok i wanna ask any of the expert freestylers out there (all two of you) what do you think the hardest song is? I thought it was toratoratora cause i can't find any obvious movement besides flailing my arms around randomly!!! |

OK, time for a beta test. I have patched the source of StepMania 3.9rc3 and it starts up the controller properly. You have to install the official version first, then overwrite the binaries (*.exe, *.vdi) with patched ones (make a backup first). Should you feel paranoid, the patch itself is available too. If all goes well, the log file will contain the phrase "Para controller powered on successfully".
The files are available from http://www.bemafia.ru/files/misc/ . |

I played on a korean cabinet today (PPD) in WI.
I love the multiple sensors. Why did that have to be wasted on PPD instead of PPP? Facing away from the screen is amazing. _________________

i don't know exactly what you just said but YOU ARE A GOD....OR A GODDESS....I CAN"T REALLY TELL
now all i need to do is beg mooch and (god forbid) work to get some money and buy a PPP controller! then we should all pitch in and make some kick buttocks simfiles!
i've said this on many other forums and i think I already posted this here too (too lazy to go back and check) but did anyone consider MAKING a para para controller? would that be cheaper and would it be easier to get it to work on the pc? |

Only if you are a hardcore DIY fan. Me, I just bought this controller from National Console Support. Once it arrived, it took me 5 minutes to "hack" it... frankly, I'm very surprised that no one else got it to work -- it's SO damn easy... |

I love how Bazooka Girl tends to pronounce "three" as "tree" and "2000" as "two-tousand". SO AWESOME. <333 _________________

.....are those specifically made for doing para para routines?lol
about making a PPP controller, someone told me it's pretty easy but they couldn't get the plans to make it. And BUYING a PPP controller is pretty expensive... |

from what i can tell, twas spamming...not that it matters much cause i'm guessing most of us don't speak russian...some of us are still wurkeeng on ower inglish.
So i palyed para para today and i was so mad cause only one other person had played that day (they reset the scored everyday) and they only beat me by 160 points! >_< |

you got THAT right....
Only 160 points? That sucks! I'm still trying to find out how you people can do Expert... I tried to play it today but I ended up looking like someone who's just starting on DanceManiaX and has never heard of ParaPara. It was pitiful. I can still TRY to ParaPara on Normal, and sometimes hard, but I keep trying to do the original ParaPara routines. It is very sad to watch. I want to videotape myself doing that sometime. I get lazy and end up standing on one leg, waving the other leg over the sensors, and making obscene gestures with my hands. XD _________________
