I think there may be a simple solution to my problem, but I don't know it. I have the blue adapter commonly found on Ebay, I think it's called super dual box? Ok, well, everything tests out fine on the control panel game controllers window, the input works fine on the "test input" function of stepmania, and it EVEN appears that i can push multiple arrows at the same time. However, when i try to play, none of the steps that i make reflect in my dance meter, it just goes straight down and fails me, even if I'm making combos. I tried it using the arrow keys on the keyboard and it works fine that way. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! |
hi, has anyone any idea on how to fix this, i posted the question last week and haven't gotten a response on here.. ? |
Adapters SUCK.
Solution: Get 2 new RedOctane Ignition 3.0 Pads. They have usbs built in, no need for drivers etc.
If you stick with adapters, get the Official RedOctane one, it's better. And hold up Start, and Select for 3 seconds. Then Remap, then try again, then repeat if that doesn't work. KTHX. _________________

Aha!!! That's why they're in red...
Now, what if you have challenge steps 10 or higher? Will that work for it too? _________________

No, only the Heavy steps will affect the song title color for some reason. _________________

Thanks for all your help AMxJM!!! PM me your email so I can send you my SM - CHAOS 6.1
Oh, yes, I still have one more simple question any guru like you could answer - What are the "5 Max's"? I'm going to re-step each one of them.
Please correct my list if it is incorrect.
1. Maximizer - 190 BPM
2. Paranoia Survivor MAX - 290 BPM
3. MAX 300 - 300 BPM
4. MaxX Unlimited - ??? BPM
5. The legend of MAX - ??? BPM
Thanx!

Maximizer isnt one of them, but Max.(period) might be the other one you're looking for. _________________

Paranoia Survivor Max isn't a Max song; it's a Paranoia song. Just like Paranoia Max Dirty Mix.
Maximizer is a Max song, but not a level 10 (it's a 8 on Heavy and MUCH slower than its relatives). Max. (Period) is the ridiculously difficult Max 300 remix (also featuring sounds from Paranoia, but not as the focal point of the song), but it's done by 2MB (Uicchi Asami), not Naoki.
And for the person looking for msvcp71.dll for Stepmania, here's where you can get it:

Thanx - that helps a lot.
And, for u, DLL guy - when you get the DLL, extract it, and place it in the following folder - C:\Program Files\StepMania\Program\
Then, it should work just fine - heck, it did for me.... _________________

"This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
no, re-installing doesn't work. What does this mean? |

-PD | Max 300 Super Max Me Mix from Ultramix 2 is #6 ;D Though it should be Maxx Unlimited Super Max Me...
and The MAXimizer: You have to download that DLL file, it's not included with RC3. _________________

Quick corrections to point out:
1. It's Yuuichi Asami (hence the U1)
2. Maximizer is technically the fastest song, if you go purely by TRUE NATURAL BPM, and has the FASTEST steps in DDR history, especially when you count the Final Mission steps. (Near the end with the triplets/freeze combination at the end)
(Max300 = 150, Maxx Unlimited = 150->160, Max. (period) = 150 and 180, The legend of MAX = 166.5, Maximizer = 180) _________________

If you don't have a decompressor (a zip still after the DL)
Go to on Win95-Win2K to Programs -> Stepmania -> Open Stepmania Program Folder -> Songs
Go to on WinXP to All Programs -> Stepmania -> Open Stepmania Program Folder -> Songs
Put the simfile folder into the Songs folder (plain yellow folder, no zipper), launch SM up and Voila!! Songs! _________________

I have 2 questions.
1. Can I make my own background movies and put them into a stepmania file? If so, how?
2. How do I add banners to songs? *shot* |

First, gotta vent. Who the hell created this forum? I sign up just to wait 2 fricking hours to post for help? WTF?
Ok, with that outta the way I hope I can find some info. Been playing SM for a while now, so I'm not some new guy. Anyway, been having lots of probs with the newest version of SM and I've gotten nowhere in solving my probs.
First, depsite the several times I reinstalled today, I can not get the banner images to come up. I've browsed some help files and checked a few posts here and found nothing. If I missed it, could ya point me in the right direction? They worked fine in RC2, I think it was RC3 that broke it.
Next, my game has a major problem with stutter/temporary freezing. This was in RC2 as well. My songs and sound effects in the menu will get off-sync, along with a lot of buzzing mixed in with the songs. I don't know if it's driver related (on-board sound) or SM. Restarting SM fixes it for a little while but it acts up again soon enough. On occasion if I let it sit in the song menu for a minute it'll clear up. No idea why.
If you need any system info, lemme know what ya want. I have DX 9c I believe, and plenty of RAM and CPU power. Dunno where else to go for help. Thanks. |
