Admittedly the bar helps on songs like Infection EX and Vertex EX.... but once you get the steps down you can use the "hot foot" method mentioned above and do just fine |

Two very basic methods of mine avoidance are:
1. Jump really high like an idiot
2. Return to the center of the pad like a newbie _________________

If you're playing at home then improvise some sort of chair-bar, it will help enormously. | I've passed VerTex no bar without hitting a mine, and I've *'d Disconnected Mobius no bar with an FC + no mines + no dropped freezes.
Mines are there to be avoided however is most convenient, bar or no bar. _________________

the best way really is to get bouncy and jump high, it looks stupid but it really works... start with lemmings expert with the hurdles... once you get that down you should have a good feel for it. _________________

Lemmings and Disconnected Mobius are 2 very different things.
Lemmings forces you to be able to jump over quad mines and forces you not to leave your feet in places.
DM forces you to be able to differenciate steps within a flood of mines and basically be able to follow arrows with mines as distractions.
The first is MUCH harder to do than the latter, as i FC no mine *'d DM on my first try and did the same to Lemmings much later. Lemming's is just a step up from romeo and juliet's mine flood, as instead of forcing you to step patters of 1, its patterns of 3.
Though, then there's further tricky stuff like Hardcore Of The North's jump step jump step jump portion, which is worse than both in my opinion. Vertex's mine's are a breeze. It's the STEPS of the song one should be worrying about. _________________

Meh. For lemmings i honestly just stream the middle metal panel as a step during the mines and continue the streams.
It's EASILY jumpable though. _________________

Turn the couch around and hold the back?
So in Lemmings, is it best to go to the center? I've a tendency to try jumping them...(though I hit mines in the center anyway due to the ignition forcing me to be PERFECTLY DEAD CENTERED or an arrow sets off...-___- but that won't be an issue once we have our metal pads. =/)
Thing is, I'm not great at jumping into the center that fast. Tips, anyone...? |

I hit the diagonals on mines like those then go back. That's why my score for Lemmings is so low. ;[ I'm too slow but at least I don't hit mines. _________________

For Lemmings I hurdle 'em. Its quite fun when you get the timing down: leap!-- runrunrunrunrunrunrun leap!--- runrunrurunrunrunrun leap!--
Just get the timing down. For other songs I "hot potato" it, but again, its all about the timing. Once you start to get it, it gets easier, and slightly less ridiculous-looking. _________________

There are different kinds of mines approaches. Each approach may be better or worse depending on the song.
Ignorable Mines - Seen a lot with jumps. If you jump L+R and the mines are U+D.... ignore them. You won't hit them.
Time-Accurate, ignorable mines - Similar to above, but you WILL hit the mines if you are off beat with the song. Zodiac has this in a few places.
Center-Jump mines - Usually all four panels have mines. They basically equate to a jump to the center panel.
Heel-Toeable mines - The best strategy for "minefield" songs (see Vertex, ROM-eo & Juli-8). Rest the center of your foot on the raised metal BETWEEN the two panels. Hit the arrows between the mines by tapping them with your heel or toe and immediately return your foot to the raised metal. Doesn't work for most homepads.
Take-them-like-a-man mines - Only seen in Hardcore of the North. Requires serious barraping to avoid.... But it's usually easier to accept your miney fate and hit them so you don't fail X-D
