Actually, I've found out what's needed to make the controller working. Watch this space for more news |

Sweet mother of Dave Rodgers! This is a breakthrough! ...somewhat...
yay, my hometown is getting a PPP machine... don't know what mix yet! (they got rid of DDR [X(] so they had to compensate with something awesome!) _________________

Welcome to DDRFreak!
Its awesome you like ParaPara. That's what this thread is all about! (well, mainly the game... but we can wander off topic.... ie: EASY BUSY ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF!!) If you don't know too much about ParaPara (not just the game), there are tons of sites to take care of that. _________________

Thank you for the warm welcome!
Yeah, I'm not really into the parapara dances outside of the game. But it's cool to watch.
Oh, and speaking of going off topic... has anyone heard of/played dance maniax? It's sorta like a very simplified version of PPP...I guess... |

Well, PPP is really all about the ParaPara dancing but, whatever floats your boat!
Oh, I LOVE DanceManiax. I got into after I played my first game on a ParaParaParadise machine back in 2001 (first and last game...I barely remember it... ). I like to do freestyling on there. I can rack up those combos pretty well! ^-^ _________________

Ironic, don't ya think?
It's good to know there are other people that play it. I don't play it much, but we have one at the arcade and no one ever plays it! It's so sad! |

I play Para Para Paradise whenever I'm at Orbit (...not often enough)
Was considering ordering some DVD's so I can actually do routines, and not flail my arms around pretending to freestyle to O Sole Mio or My Sweet Banana. :x _________________

My sister (who loves insulting ParaPara and Eurobeat) thinks that the O Sole Mio routine makes me look like a crane on crack. XD
The DVDs/VCDs are excellent. But, its much easier to download stuff illegally.... wait... oops, I didn't say that... _________________

didn't say what???
I never got into the routines at all. I think freestyle is much more challenging and it gives you a good excuse to look silly! >_<
I was thinking of getting parapara for ps2. But since it's an import you have to get some sorta kit to fix up the PS2. Has anyone tried that? |

freestyle is mucho cool, I love "Hold On Me" Expert when, near the end, the arrows go from left and right inwards to the center. Even my buddies think that move looks cool. But I still love the routines, cuz thats the point of the game.....
When somebody gets stepmania (or any program) to recognize the para para controller, give me a ring...that'll be the happiest day of my gaming life _________________

To follow up JVMN's post, I thought I'd list some easy-medium songs.
Here they are:
DR. LOVE - DON'T STAND SO CLOSE (It may be a little fast paced, but its fairly easy)
EDO BOYS - NO ONE SLEEP IN TOKYO
FRANZ "MAD COW" TORNADO AND THE ROYAL EUROBEAT ORCHESTRA OF BAZOOKISTAN - DISCOW MOSCOW (I've seen this danced two different ways from the same original choreography)
DAVE RODGERS - STAY THE NIGHT
DOMINO - MICKEY MOUSE MARCH (EUROBEAT VER.) (this one isn't that hard, I'd consider it fairly easy)
VOLTA AND GABANNA - PARAPARA ALLSTARS
LA LA MOORE WITH B4 ZA BEAT - WE TWO ARE ONE
If anyone would like to add to that, feel free, I'm too lazy to try to pull up anything else... _________________

ParaPara Allstars is more in the medium only section Definitely not easy at all lol.
Some more easy ones would be...
TAM ARROW - FIRE TO THE EUROBEAT
GO GO GIRLS/DREAM - DO YOU WANNA DANCE
KEY-A-KISS - DELUXE (EUROBEAT MIX)
MARK FARINA - I LOVE ROCK & ROLL
GO GO GIRLS - GO GO'S AND THE MONKEYS |

Thank JVMN, I tend to think some songs are easy when I shouldn't... Also, the beginning of Stay The Night can get pretty tricky, so its a little more medium too. _________________

Never heard of those songs eh? The internet is a wonnnnnderful place to find Paralist routines.... No, no, I'm not implying you rip people's routines or anything....
Seriously, that would be cool if there became a fan-made PPP for the PC/Mac. Very cool. Personally though, I can't stand using the controller, I'm just better off without it (except on a machine, but the controller for PS2 is just too in my way). _________________

...well JVMN, that explains a lot!
well vampy, there are two options! One is to download the para add on for stepmania or you could probably use the PIU add on that already comes with stepmania since there are five buttons on PIU, and five sensors on PPP, it works out nicely! of course they still havn't figured out the controller yet, (but you just said you didn't care about that!)but once they do it'll rock! then it's just a matter of making the sim files. I was gonna make some but i couldn't find any charts with the arrows. If ya find some, let me know! |
