What do people do while playing DDR that really angers you?

People who think you're hogging the machine but know good and well how to use the coin line system. If I'm playing and people are around me that I've seen play before, if they don't have a coin up, I'll play again and again and again. If someone wants to play, they need to put their coin up (if it's a newb I've never seen before, I'll step off and let them play, otherwise, if I've seen them play before, no coin, no play).

People who don't play doubles that suggest a song to do on doubles and not caring that the song on doubles is nothing like it is on singles (or is 3 times worse) like Orion .78, Freckles or something wild like PMSO.

Oi, three things...

First - last time I was at the arcade, some kid was actually KICKING MY FEET while I was playing - he was hanging on the bar and kicking me when I'd hit the down arrow. He's lucky he decided to leave before the song was over.

Second - My parents always try to compare DDR to various sorts of dancing, even after I explain that it's not a style of dance, it's a VIDEO GAME!

Third - When 4 or 6 or 8 little kids insist on going one at a time (because "they like different songs",) and then everytime they're at the machine they pick the same songs and act cool because they can A something on standard, when it's really because they've only ever played that song.

2. Anything that damages the machine in any way (stomping, drinking WHILE playing)
3. Anyone who purposefully tries to ruin my game (kicking my feet, obstructing my vision, changing the difficulty, selecting my songs, leaning all over the bar while I'm trying to play.)

I think I pretty much covered it all. I don't care about people who bar hug, use speed mods, play the same song 50 million times, or play beginner mode. As far as I'm concerned, it's their money, they can play however they want, and I do the same.

off the top of my head...

n00b annoyances:

1. somebody gives you a funny look when you put a token on the machine
2. somebody tries to take your token place-holder
3. you have to explain the concept of a coin-line
4. nobody understands the concept of a coin-line, forcing you to mentally remember who was there before you and in what order they play
5. nobody cares who was there before you, forcing you to look like jackass when you push people off of the machine when its rightfully your turn
6. people stomp on the machine like a freakin gorilla
7. somebody plays the same 1-footer 3 times in a row (kill me now)
8. someone gets angry at the pad for not working but really it does because they refuse to realize that playing at home is different than at the arcade

annoyances from regular DDR players:

1. someone shadows without asking
2. they ask to shadow while you are playing
3. someone puts a coin up by reaching over to the opposite side of the screen while you are playing
4. two friends hog the machine with vs mode (one turn for each player but they both play each time - this is fair but impolite in my eyes)

annoyances from people that dont play DDR:

1. kids lean on the bar or try to step on the other pad when your playing doubles causing you to devert attention to warning them you might elbow them in the face accidentally during play
2. somebody steps up on the other pad, mocking you, forcing you to miss a few arrows while you kick them in the shin
3. the manager enforces a "no outside drink" policy or dosnt allow videorecording of the machine/dancing
4. the manager refuses to let you "unlock" the machine
5. your girlfriend is begging you to leave
6. your girlfriend gets pissed at other girls walking around/watching
7. your girlfriend refuses to let you open a window or turn on the AC when driving home when your sweating your gonads off
8. your girlfriend.

annoyances that are caused by yourself

1. accidentally start the wrong song
2. forget to change a modifier
3. you make that one stupid mistake, right when it really counted
4. you get lost on route 295 going the wrong direction looking for a new arcade location since your arcade is closed today, and you end up 3 counties away in some hicksville town and have to spend your DDR money for gas and a map (that sucked royally)

other annoyances:

1. the drink machine is out of service
2. the arcade opens late or closes early
3. you spend so much money on DDR that you dont have enough money to play DDR
4. you put money into a machine at a new arcade loacation but you fail because the down arrow sticks (why always the down arrow?)


DDR can be stressful ;

Without a doubt it's when people play with dirt, mud, or (this has happened more than one in my presence) various animal feces caked on thier shoes so it comes off and makes the pad slick. DAMN THEM!!!!

Also when people lean on the bar of your pad while your playing a song and stomp on the pad that sucks too.

1. When someone you've never seen before, yet you obviously have played at said arcade many times before, comes up behind you and goes "WOO!" because you just did Cutie Chaser Morning Mix doing all the turns and spins then they say "can you play anything challenging?" Then you play with said person, and you choose Kiss Kiss Kiss and they get their buttocks handed to them and they just go "this song is gay".

2. People who scroll through the ABC list and go through it MORE THAN ONCE. Ok, sure sometimes I do it, but only once. By the time I've reached around to NUM, again, I've decided what I want to do. But some people must scroll through the list several times before choosing something.

3. People who go "oooo... aaahhhh" at a couple of not-so-good Standard players then the crowd jets when you're about to get up and play Heavy doubles ;_;

4. People who think they almost AA'd a song because they get an N.G on a freeze, yet get 100 greats.

5. People who groan and moan because you're doing doubles, which prevents them from playing with (and I intentionally do this at times because hardly anyone here PA's well and like to step hard, so their tapping rattles out my own tapping, throwing my PA way off).

6. People who do not-so-good on a song and say "I haven't played in # months", when that seems to be just about everyone's excuse. From what I've seen, one's skill doesn't wane THAT fast. I've seen people go 3 or 4 months without playing then go AAA something their first game after said period.

7. These little teens that use the area between the DDR Machine and the wall and/or the machine next to it as a make out area.

lol I was freestyling matsuri japan on light, and these guys were like "You Suck!!!". Then I started Sakura on Heavy and got an A. Then i "really sucked" they said lol.

I work in an arcade so I see a lot of ignerant Wiggerts and wigglets (mini-wigger) stomping on the ads after I just cleaned them. Also annoying girls who spill drinks by the machine.

But what really makes me mad is when some of the players complain about the way they get a great and the rest of the time they get perfects...then if they do get a great they just jump off the pad and have Male PMS the rest of the day. I know they want to get on the records list and all but they really need to get over it, if you dont like the way you play go home and practice some more or just get a tampon and shove it so we dont have to hear about it.

this doesnt have anything to do with annoying me during the game, but my arcade owner hasnt cleaned the pads since out last tournament. that was oh, say,
8 BLEEPING MONTHS AGO
and about half the sensors are weak, and the other half are sticky. i even offered to clean the pads myself but he says he has a set schedule for all the machines in his arcades. he says he cleans the pads every 3 months. of course they need more, but he hasnt even given them the 3 mont treatment.

Something really makes me mad when someone wants you to pick them a song since it is their first time playing and then when you do, they get all pissed off at you for picking a song that's too hard even though its only 1 step.
