Seriously, nobody buy this pad. I ruined it in a week, and playing it on carpet tires you out in about 3 songs. Go buy an Afterburner or a CF, expensive but it pays itself in all the replacement arrows you'll need to buy for the TX-1000. |

I picked up a TX-1000 at Fry's earlier today, since a friend of mine works there and was able to get me a huge discount. I wanted to try it out since I wouldn't have to wait for shipping or anything like that.
The pad itself seems to be alright, but I am having problems with my PS2, and I'm unsure if my PS2 is at fault, or if the pad is. If I start up DDR Extreme with a regular controller, everything loads fine. However, if I start up the playstation with the pad plugged in, the game won't even load. A screen comes up asking me to "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 formatted disc." If I start the game up without the pad plugged in, I can plug it in as I start a song and it works fine. However, whenever any part of the game starts to load, it hangs (if the pad is still plugged in).
Any suggestions? I'm going to test it out on a friends PS2 tomorrow and see if it has the same problems. I haven't read of anyone else having a similar problem, most complaints seem to be about the pad breaking. |

I swear that this is my pad! I got my pad on March 11th 2004 as a birthday gift. My parents got it on eBay and I'm possitive it is a CypherGames pad because...well, it says it on the black control box! Anyways, there is a slight difference! They say that on this pad it has easy, one-screw holders and they are circular. Mine are octagons and require 4 screws. I imagine mine is a earlier pad or something! Any ideas on why it is different?
I want to find a black control box that will let me use it with Gamecube...that is why I am on this hunt! |

Well after 3 months of constant use my TX-1000 is starting to crap out on me. The up and right arrows seem to be triggering at the same time, I think it may be the control box since my connector is loose but who the hell knows. I have no idea what to do from here, I'm too poor to buy another pad so I guess fare-thee well to DDR. |

My one down button got stuck once but was easily fixed by shaving off some excess plastic. The only problem with it is the LEDs in the buttons don't work at my house...yes, you got it right! It works at my friends house (maybe it's because his PS2 is newer or because he has carpet...i have tile) but not mine. Oh well... |

Well, I've had mine for almost a year and it's still functional. However, I wouldn't put a lot of faith in this pad considering the sheer volume of complaints against it. |

Damn I talked to soon. Yesterday my friend decided to be a dick and smashed his foot real hard into the right panel. I noticed this morning it has a crack in it. I don't know if it went the whole way through or not so I'll check later. Until then, a few questions:
Will it hurt (damage) to play with the panel cracked?
Will any style plexiglass replace the panel? I have some exactly like it...
The black foam material on the underside of it...does it come off easily so I can glue it onto the new panel?
Thanks! |

I had the same problem with my metal pad when it first came. you need to replace the controller box. see if the company that you bought it from has a warranty and such. |

Yea, I just bought two TX-1000's off ebay, and they seem to work great! I've had no problems with them at all! Who know's why some suck, yet others love theirs? _________________

Yeah, I just got one and thought it was great, until the down arrow broke. Then, I had to sit there and unplug it and plug it in again til it works. Yeah, It's a metal pad, yeah, i don't take it for granted, yeah, you better wear sneakers on it, but if you're gonna spend money on one, buy one that's half decent. My parents bought me the cheapest one they could find on Ebay |
