When there are tournaments that have two levels Standard and heavy. What keeps heavy players from entering into a standard tournament? It would be an easy win for them.

Not really, because more than one heavy player would typically enter.

Usually the prizes are better for the Heavy division. Also tournaments generally have a qualifying song that they use to seed people into the "appropriate" division, of course that's where sandbaggers come in.

Of course, once somebody does enter a division they do not fit in, it would either be funny to watch him lose anyway, or it would be funny to watch him get driven out of town by the angry villagers. biggrin.gif

Before someone asks, sandbagging is deliberately playing badly so that you get seeded into the lower group, then doing better in the actual tournement.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

I entered 3 tournaments so far. When you tell a heavy player you want to play standard, they usually give you a headache about it. I found that players that play HEAVY all of the time may have trouble going to standard becuase the steps are so different. use this to your advantage and play standard whenever possible, most tournaments are perfect attack anyway, so who cares, and why tire yourself out on heavy.

p.s. tournaments are lame becuase people are out to get eachother and will lie/cheat over a video game in which we all share a similiar interest

I never really got a chance to play in a tournment before because no one wants to have around where I live. I was thinking of hosting one myself, but I thought I should go to a few first so I can understand how they work. I would like to see one near the Lycoming mall.
