i hear most people don't like ITG due to most of the offbeat songs, are there any songs that do go with the beat of the songs or not?? i personally enjoy offbeat songs once in awhile because you have to pay closer attention to the arrows disturb.gif

are you talking about off sync or off beat? The two are different.

I believe a lot of the songs on ITG1 arcade require you to step late. =/

These were fixed in home version and presumably ITG2 as well.

Unless it's one of those obscure "Oasis off-sync in ONLY the Medium chart", then ITG 2 fixed.

I've never played the arcade one, but home version seems really late to me. I played Why me easy with hide judgement and got 80% greats. I'm sure I was early because I played it again with judgement on and nearly all my excellents and fantastics seemed late to me.

Perhaps you should adjust the timing in the Options then?

I dunno which way to adjust it ; ; Should I + it or - it? I don't get how that works. I set my DDRMAX2 to +2 because everybody said to, but I don't know if it made it earlier or later.

My ITG home seems slightly off but it seemed early, but I must either be wrong or have really started sucking at dance games after taking 2 weeks break. When I adjusted it to be earlier I lost my combos easily, i wish i knew my skill level at the game to better adjust it to the correct values, I'll fiddle around with it later just can't be bothered to spend the time.

From playing all ITG songs, i don't believe the songs are one bit offbeat/offsync/whatever. I believe that each note has some purpose/fit to the song, whether it be symphonic or simply 4th beat arrows. nerd.gif

...that's just my opinion though E4.gif ...

i made this pic a while ago. i think it explains the "syncing issues" pretty well. obviously there are exceptions, but for the most part, the majority of songs fit this classification:

what that means is that the center of the fantastic window is late when compared to its ddr counterpart, which is more centered on the beat and very slightly early.

Pretty much, you hit the arrows at a different time than you would in DDR

I think blink04 meant syncopated songs, rather than off-sync ones. A lot of people don't like ITG because it's very hard, rather than offbeat.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

I really hope this thread gets stickied because I see a lot of people getting turned off from the game that are DDR vets and haven't messed with the timing...After playing with the timing extensively I have found that +35 gives almost the exact same timing as the DDR series. I have all the japanese DDRs and all the US ddrs and +35 will be virtually identical timing-wise...I was very disappointed when I first tried it because I thought that the steps were way off too, but it is kick buttocks now!

My HONEST opinion on this...

I, myself, didn't get many AAA's on DDR, but I sure as hell get a whole crapload of fantastics on ITG...

DDR to me has been early, and ITG seems on time.

But if you all got used to DDR timing, then ITG will seem late.

exactly, z-nyte...in other words, if you play 0 timing on ddr like I do, +35 will seem identical...Of course, if you play with timing, you must adjust timing to compensate...so +1 ddr i assume would be +45 ITG, -1 would be +25 or so...
