Hey, can u give me any advice on buying a metal DDR pad. I want to get one but dont want to pay hundreds of dollars. Do u know a good place preferalby in Canada with good quality pads and a good Canadian shipping rate. I don't want to pay more than $200 total for 1 pad. Plz feel free to post any stories or comments. It would be greatly appreaciated.

P.S. I know there is other boards that compare them but i would like to know about shipping and all the other companies that send them besides red octane, share ur stories!

Cobalt Fluxes, those are the only good ones.

$350+whatever you need to get them north of the border.

The other ones such as the TX-1000s and Red Octanes are OK, but require modding if you want them to be good. Here's my experiences:

WELL MAINTAINED arcade pad>CF>RO>TX

If you can't pay more than $200 then get a TX 1000 and replace the foil with sheet metal and the acrylic arrows with lexan/polycarbonate arrows

Is modding what I think it is? Like changing the pad that came from the maker? Where am i supposed to buy this polycarbonhidride? and what is the X1000 i've never heard of it. Who sells it?

...or u could take the plunge and try building your own for about $150(US)

if u are good at building, then its really easy...if not, u might want to have some patience, othewise it may not be a good idea laugh.gif
(and u prolly will want to have the tools too)

its really not that hard...check out the homebuilt section
(200+ pages)
