I have skipped school several times to play DDR. I learn more on the mat than I do at school. I learn skills like agility and rhythm. I learn to know my limits (for example: no catas after 2 AM.) I learn what to eat to get energy, and what not to eat to get cramps. I learn how much I can endure and how long I need to recover. I learn how loud I can blast a stereo without pissing off my sister. That's onlty the beginning.

You know what I learn at school?

Yes,you don't learn anything at school. Just skills that'll help you later on with life. xD

Two separate occasions Ive skipped to play at the arcade. I can't do it often, since the arcade is 45 minutes away, I have to make an entire afternoon out of it. But it was close to the end of the year and we werent doing anything worthwhile in school anyhow. Once there was an elementary school field trip at the mall, and these kids would cash like $5 worth of tokens, and then have to leave, so they gave them to me. E4.gif Much more worthwhile than school

The fact that three people couldn't tell my purposely typoed, all caps, obviously thoughtless post was a joke saddens me.

Plus, If you're going to take the time to "cite" me with "FAQ Violations", you need a life.

Well, the fact that 3 people couldn't tell that that was a joke... probably means that it doesn't look like a joke and people will mistake it for something else. This IS, in fact, the internet. You can't always detect sarcasm in typed words. If you would have put a side note saying that this was a joke, or perhaps an emoticon, then it might have been more legible.

Also, the fact that i took the time to quote items from the FAQ violations was probably a good thing. I'm telling you all of these things just in case a mod gave you points for something that you claimed to be a joke or whatnot. nerd.gif

Lastly, i am sorry, though, that i did mistake it. It could have been interpreted two ways, as said before. E13.gif

O yeah.... you said "I need a life"... well, since i LOVE ddr and do it EVERYDAY and live it and breath it... i guess that statement could be fixed to... "I have a life... it's called DDR. I'm concerned and love talking and playing it E1.gif ". E15.gif

What a bunch of winners. In the children's hands lies the future, or something like that. Greeaaat.

But I digress. School has definitely seemed utterly pointless to me in the past, and I've skipped days at the end of the year that simply don't matter. I've never screwed myself over, or skipped just to play DDR, though.

As for !!!!!'s post, it reeked of sarcasm to me, even before noting his trick membership and signature that mocked newb idiocy. The point of his satirical post shined through the all caps and swearing.

I've skipped classes a few times, but I think on every occassion I was blowing off some class that I could afford to miss in exchange for working on something more pressing in another class I was taking at the time. Skip class to go play DDR? I'm bored of playing at home, so I play at the arcade much more often. Going to the arcade costs me money in both game credits and gas, I have to balance my budget between necessities and wants, and besides all that, I'm paying $25,000 a year in college tuition (including student loans that will haunt me even after I'm dead riiight.gif) for classes that generally (but not always) have a little more significance than high school. There's noooooo way I'm skipping class to play DDR. It makes as much financial sense, IMHO, for me to skip class to play DDR as it does to take $89-$238, set it on fire, shred any remains and toss those out over the ocean.
laugh.gif

Of course, this only applies to me, based on calculations I did that could be wrong. If you think it's a better idea to play DDR than go to school, hey, that's cool.

No.

Why?

Because.

Then I'd be responding to this thread, saying I have, when in actuality, I didn't. Because you see, I realize that this game is going to die, and I am going to die, therefore I must learn all I can...

When I learn all I can, I will realize why this game isn't more important than school, which automatically deems it as less important than anything else I'd be doing that further increases the quality of my life.

Boo you all.

We all know that school is boring. . . but skipping it just to go spend money to play a game. . . I really don't think it's worth it. But hey, that's your decision.
