I hate newbies who try to impress their friends on light and beginner and actually believe their good! I mean, nothing against newbies, we all were one at one point, but damn man; get something better than a "C" on a two-footer before you start bragging.
I got on after him and his friends just stood there in awe. _________________

That was kind of a random post but I dont really care. I mean when you first start playing you want to show all of your friends how "good" you are. That's just human nature. One day that person will probably be saying the same thing that you are now. _________________

ya i agree with that. one day that person will be in our shoes hating on other noobs who think they are good. but i also agree with what Random-hero is saying. when you start a sport or game or whatever it may be, you want to show off to your friends and stuff. especially with DDR, because not alot of people play it and its cool to say " hey, you have never heard of this game but look how good i am at it." _________________

really not to flame, but god, i hate people who make threads making fun of people who arent as good as themselves, and brag that they went up after them to impress everybody
i could easily brag that YOU are a noob, and that i am way better than you (because in all truth, i am) and that if i lived where you do, i could just own you in front of your friends.

When I am at the shore on the boardwalk, it seems like 75% of the players are on beginner or light. What I can't stand is that they will have a crowd but if any standard or heavy player goes up to play, the crowd dissapears like watching someone play La Copa De Vida 3 times in a row on beginner is more exciting than watching someone play an 8 or 9 footer |

Come on guys, give em a break. As long as you get to play, do't worry about it.
And yes, it is odd how people can sometimes be more interested in struggling and repetitiveness. _________________

Sometimes for me its more about the "fun factor" and not how difficult you can do. Whaching someone do a light mode can be funner than watching someone stop around and look like they are gonna pass out from doing heavy. I look like im gonna fall all over when I play on heavy...LOL...Just a thought?? |

thirded. Didn't we all get into DDR for the fun? And I can be accused of that. I was playing some 6-footers on standard a while back and some people i was at the arcade were really impressed. Later, people were doing sakura, the maxes, etc. and they never got the cred they deserved. _________________

Oh dear Lord... can we just possibly grow up a little and act like mature teens/adults??
I would like to point out before anyone reads any further that I am not here to flame anyone, and I respect everyone's opinion, but for the love of God, people, can we possibly get any more IMMATURE?? It's like posting a topic that screams, "OMG, aRe YoU bEtTeR aT dDr ThAn Me?? OMFG 1311 tHaT iS sO kEwL!!!!!1311!!!" ...
Here's a thought: I understand you feeling that newbies and beginners have no right to show off to their friends that they got a C on a light song. I also understand that you felt that they should possibly improve before they go off bragging to anyone else. Well, let me just say one thing before I go on ranting: Welcome to the unusual world we live in, mister_doublea. I hope you enjoy your stay, and, for your ears only, DDR IS A GAME, NOT THE WHOLE ESSENCE OF LIFE!!!
If you really think about it, begginers like him/her are just getting into the feel of getting used to DDR. It might just be the feeling of adrenaline running through their veins is a new experience, since they either haven't played DDR before, or have it at home and don't get the same feeling of a "rush." You get what I'm saying there?
Still, all things considered, who are you to judge them? Even if you ARE better, (which I have no doubt in my mind you are) it STILL doesn't give you the right to smite them if they go to show off to their friends. It's part of being a HUMAN. We live our lives in a sense like Darwin's Survival of the Fittest Law.
Okay, I'm done now. If you'll excuse me, I think I'll crawl back into my bed and fall asleep to some DDR music. Goodnight. |

I concur with KyahRyorin. Honestly people, we all started like that in some shape or form. Sure, some of us caught on to DDR a little faster than others, but all had our first games at one point. What's wrong with being proud of your early accomplishments? Is it really hurting you that new players are stoked that they passed Butterfly on Light with a C? If the answer is yes, I'd reevaluate what your true values are. _________________
