In the PUI: ITG2 announcement it mentions "freeze rolls." What are they? E19.gif

There's now a new type of step: freeze rolls. They resemble freeze arrows except for having a very spiky look to them, and require you to hit the arrows every 0.3s (equivalent to quarter notes at 200 BPM) in order to not get a Bad from them (they count as freezes). From what I saw, these are used sparingly and in good taste.

And this was defined (twice) in the first page of the thread with the announcement, by the way.

No, you can stop after they completely pass the guide arrows.

Have you ever considered you're playing the wrong game? You'll forgive me for noticing you specifically, but it seems like all you and EBT actually do is moan about ITG. The arrows, the songs, the theme, the PS2 version, and now rolling freezes and even hands. Perhaps, you know, you don't actually like the game, you've just not realised it yet.

I have to nitpick a bit here... There's no such thing as "freeze rolls". They're known simply as "rolls". By the same token, the equivalent to DDR's "freeze" arrows are known as "holds" in ITG. "Freeze" is not part of ITG terminology.

I just know this is going to be another one of those terms that everyone gets wrong, and it's going to drive me nuts...

actually, i havent played itg in nearly 2 months, because other than the silly gimmickry, it doesnt offer anything else entertaining to me. mostly due to its lackluster selection of songs, and mediocre stepcharts. it was fun for the first month or two, but things get old very, very fast with this game. hopefully itg2 will have more variety than gimmicks.

Freeze rolls are awesome and lots of fun. They're used sparingly and appropriately. It's nice to be able to do fast trills without worrying about being graded for every step. I see no reason for complaint.

There's also no AAA's, but I AAA'ed Disconnected Mobius (hard) and EVERYBODY UNDERSTANDS WHAT I MEAN.

When I say I feck'ed it, people look at me funny...

im just not one to sugar coat anything if i see something that needs to get called out on ill do it

PS i didnt say a single damn word about rolling freeze (as much as i might or might not of thought about them)

so please refrain from putting words in to my mouth

I never said or intended to make it look like you did, but you have moaned a lot about ITG and issued related to ITG, with things ranging from "me too"ing on actual problems, to complaining because shockingly, the ITGFreak stepchart arrows look like the arrows from the game.

I'm not trying to start anything here, but I think I'm justified in saying that you and cfusion combined appear to have thus far moaned about every possible nitpicky thing it's possible to moan about without outright stating you dislike the game and are finding faults with it.

Why does almost every ITG related thread here turn into one large argument?

"What you mean like an egg roll?"

Voice all the opinions you want, I've never once said "Hey this is what you do and you shouldn't do it". I just made an observation stating that you like to voice negative opinions about ITG on all sorts of issues, to the point where I'm surprised you actually play the thing in the first place.

Anyway, this is off topic. My PM box is here if you want to carry this on, but I doubt either of us actually care that much.

IIRC it was something more like:
"Freeze Roll? What is that like an Egg Roll or something? Com'on now."
