I absolutely can't stand Wild Rush Heavy in the part where you can clearly hear the beat and the arrows follow a different pattern and I don't like Trip Machine ~luv mix~ much either for similar reasons. _________________

No. Just as said before, and by myself, there are no offbeat song. There are only offsync songs. Offsync means that they don't follow the regular 4th beat pattern. They may only contain notes such as 8th notes and 16ths... or even 12ths... but otherwise, no, there are no such things as offbeat songs... it's offsync... |

I say who cares wheather it's offbeat or offsync. I just consider them weird notes.
On that note, GRADIUSTIC CYBER (AMD G5 MIX) can die for all I care. _________________

offsync means the bpm of the steps doesn't match the bpm of the song.
offbeat means the notes are syncopated between the beats, like in gam de couple (in a couple places), hence them being called offbeat or between beats. |

First of all, here's something that you should be aware of because it happened to me already:

Secondly, is there something funny about a 12th note? I've taken drum lessons for about 3 years, been in choir and been playing DDR for 1.5 years now. Do you think it doesn't exist... because you might want to check your sources... because they do |
sorry, lol. youre right, i shouldnt of typed that in. It's an inside joke among the people in my band class. Thus, it makes no sense. _________________

No. These songs are so annoying. Even the easiest of them.
I mean.. I much more enjoy the challenge of a Can't Stop Fallin in Love Speed Mix Heavy than a Paranoia anything. I mean... that's what's cool about being good.. is that you can go so fast.. not memorize where random arrows are. IMHO. |

I only hate songs where a step purposely place out of sync is extremely difficult to hit and keep up with the rest of the song. Example that can kill most: The Legend of Max. Jumps followed by triplets turned the opposite way at 330+ bpm is almost sure to KO me and a few other unfortunate souls. _________________

There's a thin line between the two I think. |

Are you insane? If you ever had any musical training whatsoever you would know that there is no such thing as "12th" notes.
Note values proceed like this.
Whole note
1/2 note
1/4 note
1/8 note
1/16 note
1/32 note
1/64 note
1/128 note.
You should recognize a pattern.
there are however triplet variations of each where 3 notes take the place of 2. The closest thing to a "12th" note in modern music would be an 1/8 note triplet, or in your terms. A 3/16 note.
Edit: I defy you to show me one piece of music that contains "12th" notes.
in fact I swear in front of God that I will pay you any exorbitant amount of money that you specify if you can do so.
EDIT: You are an idiot. |

The convention of calling them twelfths comes from the fact that in 4/4 time, a 4 quarter notes fit in a measure, 8 eighth notes fit in a measure, 16 sixteenth notes fit in a measure, and 12 triplets fit in a measure. Three-sixteenths? Huh? What? I can't even fathom how you could squeeze any .3333(repeating) out of that.
Simple Google search turns up this:
http://www.computermusic.co.uk/tutorial/theory3/basslines.asp wrote: | Sometimes the bass (along with drums and the chord instrument) hits just before the first beat, anticipating the new harmony by an eighth, twelfth (eighth triplet) or sixteenth note. |
XuXa, I know you mean well, but you should take that bold, red, underlined text to PM. |

Off beat obviously exists. I may be a relative DDR newbie but I've been playing music for 5 years now. Off-beat means anything that isn't ON the beat. So quarter notes are on-beat, eighths, sixteenths, thirtyseconds, and anything triplets are all offbeat. I personally have no problem with those--I can't always do them, but that's just because I haven't trained my legs to move fast enough yet--I just really, really hate songs where the timing of the steps doesn't match the timing of anything in the music. Which I think is what off-sync means. _________________
