You can get a PS2 -> Xbox adapter for it. Otherwise you can wait till the new control box from Cobalt Flux comes out if it will. _________________

I got my doubles kit with the clear arcade mod today.
They give you 4 brackets, 20 screws, and 5 predrilled clear lexan squares with pre-drilled holes. All you do is remove the lexan from the panels you wish to raise, put the new lexan underneath, then place the original lexan back on top. Pretty simple really. All raised buttons trigger just about as easily as before.
the buttons end up being recessed about 1/8 inch. It would be nice if it were a little more, which I might look into doing someday by adding a few washers around the screws. I modded one of the pads, and left the other flat. I was able to feel a slight difference but not much. They advise against playing barefoot, since there are sharp exposed edges of lexan. I imagine you would be able to tell the difference better in shoes with thinner soles than my tennis shoes have.
I played in some old vans I had with worn out soles, it was much easier to find myself on the pad than when I was wearing my running shoes.
Still would be nice if it were recessed a bit more, but much better than flat pad.
I have had the pads with the mods for a few weeks now. There is just enough recessing so that you can tell where you are, but not so much that you would like trip on it or something. I'm no expert, but I can at least pass some 8 and 9 footers. If I miss, I can honestly say that it's me and not a pad mistake. I would much rather play on the modded CF than the flat one.
As you can see, they are only recessed the thickness of one lexan panel. I wish it was a little thicker, but it does make it somewhat easier to find yourself on the pad. If I had it to do over, I might have modded it myself with more recess and for less money.

Ok, I'm looking for some type of review. Who all purchased this mod? What mod did you buy? Is it a notible difference? How does it compare to the arcade? How does it compare to the afterburner? Do you have pics? |

I bought controller converteres off ebay and they work find for ultramix and mix2. But Ultramixes are nothing at all like the arcade DDRs. Extreme US is the worse, in my opnion, US DDR game. Max has to be the best and closest to the arcade songs (has most of them). I'm also interested in the arcade mods, so everyone lemme know if they're good. |

I have pics, but I don't know how to add them to my post, if someone will let me know how, I'll edit this post and put them here. It really doesnt look too different at all.

first, take pics with a digital camera. then, post them on an online photo album service such as photobucket. then, either give us the link or use this coding to post pictures:

Dude, you're waaaaaaaaaaaay over reacting to the situation. Cobalt Flux is answering to these demands. An xbox adapter really doesn't cost that much if you want to order a CF and play it out of the box. Or you could wait for the 3 pronged (ps2, xbox, usb) control box to come out and buy one of those.
Also, what do you think of Coblat Fluxes without corner decals? I like them; they look more arcadish. _________________

when do those 3 pronged things come out? the only reason i was saying that is cuz i heard (from these forums, i think this thread actually possibly) that the adapter doesnt work with CF..if it does thats np, especially if that 3 pronged thing is coming soon i still have to come up with a way to get about 200 or so more bucks anyway so... _________________

The staffers at Cobalt Flux will release their own so it will definitely work with Cobalts.

Uhm, I don't really understand your post but here's what I'm guessing in response to it:
1.) Cobalt Flux has not released any peripheral that will allow you to play on any other system besides the Playstation/Playstation 2. This was because I believe CF came out before Ultramix, therefore the only way you could play DDR at home was on the PS1 and then PS2.
2.) There has been no word on any release date as of yet. _________________

And as somebody else said, Cobalt Flux hasn't announced a release date for the new control box, so any mention of WHEN it's coming out would just be speculative. However, about three weeks ago, they said it'd be out in 4-5 weeks, so do the math.
But keep in mind that it was supposed to come out a year ago. |
I e-mailed them earlier this year (i beleive that this is posted in the countless pages before this post...) and here is what i got:

I believe that they're not doing it YET. I believe DDR with Mario comes out July something or the other. Therefore, they haven't done so yet. I believe they're only doing PC/Xbox support because the Afterburner did it. CF's only competition is RO and their Afterburner and they want to continue to hold their place as "metal pad king" or whatever, so they're obviously going to do this. _________________

And that's also why they released the arcade mod kit. _________________
