Add El Ritmo Tropical to that list too and see how you like them then. But I do like Leading Cyber.

Offbreat songs? Yes, although I'm not particularly good at them, especially Sorrow songs, with the exception of Tears.

Offsync songs? Not a chance. E15.gif

No, offbeat songs suck. I like having something to help my PA. Like a little drum beat or somethin.

O boy... just so i don't vent in here or anything or cause controversy, here's a thread explaining that there is no such thing as a "offbeat" song. I searched forever to try and find it, although i didn't. Just look and you'll see what i'm talking about. I'm not going to even explain it, but the explination is all there...

To answer your question, though, i do like the challenge of songs that are offsync. nerd.gif

I think it makes songs a heck of a lot harder! But sometimes it's fun just to have to pay closer attention to where the arrowrs are instead of the beat and a lot more challenging

I guess you are right and wrong, ParanoiaBrothers. Yes, there are no offbeat songs, and offsync songs are where the arrows don't match the beat of the song. I believe the author of the topic is refering to songs that are CHAOTIC, like songs with 1/12th or 1/16th notes and stuff.

Yes yes, we've discussed this before, but offbeat songs don't exist. Personally, I like chaotic songs that seen offbeat to some; they do present an extra challenge in finding the rythm at first.

Well I'm glad other people have mentioned there's no off-beat or off-sync (ok, some songs seem offsync unintentionally), they just have a hard rhythm to find... I personally prefer songs like this. They make PAing more of a challenge and aren't usually draining on your legs. Plus I've seen people totally fall flat on Memories but can AA HVAM no problem, it's great.

Anything that isn't a 1/4th quarter note is technically offbeat.

Offbeat is not the same as off-sync.

Gamelon de couple is offbeat. Very fun.

D2R is off-sync. Not fun.

No. Just as said before, and by myself, there are no offbeat song. There are only offsync songs. Offsync means that they don't follow the regular 4th beat pattern. They may only contain notes such as 8th notes and 16ths... or even 12ths... but otherwise, no, there are no such things as offbeat songs... it's offsync... nerd.gif

Offsync songs are great for tournaments.

Rythmically challenging or complex songs are my favorite in general.
Now, when you put the two of them together (parts of Lamour?), it's a super fun tournament match.

And yeah, it hurts me to see all this talk about offbeat. There's such a thing as offbeat, but not in DDR. It's either offsync, or too hard for scrubs to read. E4.gif

How is Silent Hill even remotely offsync? E19.gif Every note is either a quarter note or eighth note... also, each bar usually starts with a quarter note and then followed by a either more quarter notes or an eight note/quarter note stream.... please explain nerd.gif
