I, also, am one of the people who like Crash. It's very fun to freestyle to.

It seems like this thread, in theory, is different from the typical "least favorite song" thread. But, as usual, people have turned it around. I notice how nobody ever dares say that something like the Maxes wouldn't belong in DDR.

I'm here to fill that void, then. Face it, they suck. This game is called "Dance Dance Revolution", not "Molest arrows at 8 million bpm to crap that has no musical value whatsoever Revolution". It's sad how few people actually try to "dance" to it. So many people freak out over hard stuff, just like every other game out there. Just because it's hard doesn't make it good. So, I'd like to know...is it possible for someone to explain to me what is so awesome about that type of music.

I mean...at least the early Paranoia's were club type music that could be fun. Even the Trip Machine's have a beat, granted they're weird songs, but still good. Then there's the slow songs...oh, boy; the slow songs. I've noticed that anytime a question arises as to what people hate, they automatically say "Anything slow". Question: Why? Is it because it's boring to you; not enough arrows to attack? Too bad, they're there for a reason. We FS'ers like them. How people can not want to get down when you hear something like Miracle or Let's Talk It Over is simply beyond me.

Simply put, almost all of the songs in DDR belong. Most of them have a distinctive style of dance that fit with that respective type of music. Exceptions that really aren't danceable: The Maxes, except Legend; that one's ok. Saint Goes Marching, Love Shine, V (Love the song, but don't belong), True (Radio Edit, the Trance Sunrise one is fine), and lastly...Remember You.

Shut the frick up man I haven't done that in almost 2 weeks it's over with. I never hated slow songs it's just I can't freestyle so I choose to be a technical player.

Just for the record, your RFL post was made two days ago, not two weeks.

And I like Crash. But then, I also enjoy variety.

Wow, someone agreed with me? Sweet! Any support is most appreciated. Anyways, I thought of some more songs I really don't think belong in DDR. Please bear in mind that I like these songs, but they just don't fit in. At least not in my opinion. Here we go.

1.) Across the Nightmare-Seriously, who can get down to this? It's hella fun on Oni & all; but that's about all you can say for it.

2.) Burning Heat!-Brings back pleasant old memories of Gradius II; but doesn't fit in a game that's supposed to emulate dancing.

3.) Gradiusic Cyber-Speaking of Gradius, here's a crap-tastic abomination that was spawned from the same thing. This song sucks all around, no redeeming qualities except how fun the double heavy steps are.

4.)Destiny Lovers-It hurts to say that, too. I love this song, but it really sticks out from the mostly dance-able DDR song crowd. Awesome guitar, though.

5.)Cow Girl-Same thing. Who doesn't have fun on single heavy, right? It's awesome, but just seems more like a novelty than anything else.

6.) Love Again Tonight-Question:Has anybody ever picked this song on purpose? Didn't think so...

7.) Ever Snow-I love this song, but there's nothing funky about it...at all. That one part makes the BeForU oni course pretty tough, though. Then, I suck bad at Oni mode.

Well, that's all I got for now, I'm sure I'll think of more later.

the only songs I can think of that really dont "fit in" are:
memories- It is a carbon copy of about any Naoki song and pretty plain
Jam Jam reggae- I like the outside-the-boxness of it but the steps...ugh!
Little doggy- once again I enjoy the song but not the greatest dance song
Virtually any UM2 song- way too american and very generic steps

I believe UM2 is more similar to ITG than DDR (dont turn this around to be ITG or DDR) and ITG is trying to become the American DDR. Also Xbox is almost only in the US so the marketing reasons are obvious.

basically....and Japanese song belongs happy.gif

aaaaaactualy...La Copa de la Vida is done by Patrick Victorio. Ricky Martin redid the song and butchered the shit out of it....and he re-named it The cup of life. (wich is the translation to La Copa de la Vida)

I still don't know how to do this whole "quote" thing so I won't make a fool of myself trying, but this goes in response to you, Nyanko.

No, my opinion is nothing even remotely close to fact, that's why it's an opinion, as I clearly stated in my post. There's no need to quote me like that & then insinuate I meant it in a different context than what I clearly stated. I don't think the song fits in DDR, period. It's an ok song, not one of my favorites; but it's just not a good song to move to; be it freestyle or technical. It's one of those songs you never see either type of players choose, and that is a fact; at least it is where I am.

Oh yeah, Kiss Kiss Kiss seems out of place, too. Even the music itself isn't too hot on that one, in my opinion, anyways.

Brava, brava, bravissima! I agree wholly and completely! I can't remember the last time that I focused on the music and dancing as a priority; definitely not since I stopped playing Standard.

Sure, I like feeling OMGFINGAWESOME for passing a crazy 10-footer, but that gets tiresome both physically and mentally.

It really seems no surprise to me that crowds draw more around Standard to low-foot Heavy players; they look like they have fun, and move around with more vibrant energy, rather than flailing their feet in a bezerk fashion.

I find it hard to believe that people consider songs like Love Again Tonight and Kiss Kiss Kiss out of place. They sound like the epitome of DDR jpop/euro to me.

Like FHOD DJ X!! said earlier, most of the japanese songs fit into DDR well. By that I mean the uptempo Jpop, which basically means all of the japanese songs except that infernal Silent Hill.

I don't really see how any of the excruciatingly slow songs fit into DDR, though.

Well Nyanko, I won't get pissy so long as people don't respond in an unnecessarily fecicious way like you did. If you don't agree with me, that's cool; but you don't have to quote me like that, seriously. I disagree with a lot of things I read on here, but I'm not rude enough to be a smart-buttocks; I simply state my opinion.

For example, E-Prime said that Kiss Kiss Kiss & Love Again Tonight are what he (she?) considers the epitome of jpop/euro. That's cool, it's their opinion & I respect that. As a matter of fact, (s)he's absolutely right; the painfully slow ones really don't fit. Referencing bag & be in my paradise. Very fun, no doubt; but still not really anything more than a novelty (bag) & shock value (BIMP double heavy). Silent Hill, too. I like the song, it's very fun (especially the 3rd Christmas Mix on double) but that don't mean it fits right in.

Also, about the older mixes. Operator is one of my favorite songs from DDR, ever. But that & Pink Dinosaur have no place on this game. You really can't do much to either one except call Operator Heavy a 7-footer then giggle as people new to Heavy mode try it & die since it's way too hard for that label.

If You Like the Song Bag by RevenG, DON'T READ THIS POST!:

Bag, doesn't belong in DDR, I mean come on, This offsync/offbeat piece of junk is impossible to dance to even on Light mode (which is sad). God knows how people clear it on heavy with it's terrible offsynchness (if offsynchness is a word LOL). The arrows scroll up the screen so slowly and it just isn't fun to dance to. However, a good quality of this song is it is more treasured Japanese dance music which I personally love. Fun to listen to but not to dance to.

Sync (For Extreme): This although being a favourite song of mine, may not appeal to dancers who are just learning, this song should have more feet next to it on light. I just can't picture a little kid dancing to Sync in order to learn to play. However, I think this song is great.

Darn I like bag, I wasn't supposed to read that, but you're right about Sync if you count whoever just looked at their first DDR game and wrong for those in my category who were only scared of an arcade.

Back to the topic, I must mention all of those songs that I disagree with.
1) After the Game, Patsenner.
2) Silent Hill,
3) Silent Hill Oni.
4) Y.M.C.A., Only You

I chose those songs based on either the steps or the sound.
