Got a copy of the game just today!!!!
I traveled 7 miles to the store, but it's definately worth it.
Of all the gamestores in the Boston area, only 1 had it. _________________

7 miles, you say? That's not exactly impressive, unless you walked there. With a venomous snakebite in both legs. As it is, my copy of ITG is at least 2500 miles away.... apparently, DHL doesn't do any work at all on weekends. _________________

UPS and FedEx don't do deliveries on Saturday either. USPS is the only delivery company I know of that does (unless you pay extra).

UPS can deliver on Saturdays, but it has to be specifically requested (i.e. paid for). Might be only for businesses - my company usually gets one or two urgent packages on Saturdays. |

Then you need to pre order it, so then you'll know that one will be shipped there. _________________

Well. Today I went to EB to see if they had it and they did, I bought it as something to do while waiting for the next DDR. I tried the songs out on Stepmania and didn't really enjoy them, but it was something to do. I didn't like it at first, but now that I've played it more, it's actually a pretty solid and fun game. When used right, mines and hands can be fun. Some steps are pretty lame though, I don't really like M. Ezermian's steps. R. McKanna's steps are awesome from what I have played so far.
The main point is: don't hate the game before you've tried it. It's an alright game, and a good start to a series.
Somethings that I think can be improved about it:
Some better steps
More musical variety (I think ITG2 has better variety, from what I've seen. I haven't payed that much attention.)
More than one color in the interface. PURE BLUE, it gets annoying.

For those who are interested, Inside Pulse has an official In The Groove review going live in a few hours. However, clicking the link will allow you to see it now.
I make it clear in the review, and I'll make it clear here: This review is based SOLELY on the PS2 version of the game, as I have yet to play it in the arcades. It is also incredibly LONG, as I take the time to look within practically EVERY nook and cranny of the game. This is about 350% more than what any other review will talk about.
I am also prepared for a HUGE amount of flames from idiot fanboys.
So take a look! _________________

Good review, I skimmed it because I am probably going to sleep soon. But I agree with you for the most part.
Quick nitpick: Quote: | I also noticed that you couldn't sort the songs in different orders. And the songs aren't listed in alphabetical order, so I'm going to have to memorize where all the songs are placed in order to get to my favorites more quickly. Small complaint, yes, but I'll deal with it. |

Thanks! I couldn't find anything about it in the manual, and I guess I just didn't look in the right places online for the solution.
So, if that particular quoted paragraph ends up changed in the official review...thank Ebisumaru. _________________

Haha, it says it on the bottom of the screen! But I didn't notice it for a while either. |

It's well-done, but I like my eggs sunny-side up.

Damn...the ONE thing I didn't pay attention to...
Okay then, there's one thing I honestly and truly missed. But its fixed now to reflect correctness and facts. _________________

daandrew, you're in New Hampshire? Did you perchance have super-awesome air shipping? I sure hope so, because NH is farther than VA I imagine, and I'll have to be mad if you got it before me with the same shipping service...
About the review, I say "great work" to El Mullet. Very detailed, and an interesting read. I wonder though, did you not unlock Pandemonium? You said that the difficulty bar ranges from 1-12; therefore, does it do something special for Pandemonium (screen turns black, the difficulty bar adds 1 and turns blood red, the color seeping down the screen like a bloody wound...)? Just curious about that fact. Also (though anyone with the game can likely answer this), how are unlocks performed, and at what frequency? Is it the same "good faith" approach of DDR home versions (just play the song, don't pass it), or must you actually pass the song for it to count? I'd like to know what kind of work I'm in for... _________________
