I never played PIU, but I plan to when it comes out on PS2. (I would play it now, its just I don't know any arcades that have it frust.gif) Well, in a way, I played PIU on Stepmania on a keyboard if that counts, but i can't even do that good. My friend thinks if you played DDR and try PIU, you'll never be able to be good at both, but I'm gonna prove him wrong. What tips are there at getting good at PIU, because the diagonal arrows throw me off.

Practice. That's about it. Get a USB-PS2 converter from redoctane, plug in your pad, map out the controls, and go practice.

Saying you can't play PIU and DDR is like saying you can't play Singles and Doubles. If you master one, sure, you aren't an instant master at the other. But you can still learn it and become damn good.

The only gameplay tip I can give you is I find sliding your feet is more common rather than the actual jumping for jumps. But maybe that's just me.

Honestly, you'll probably be able to make the transition to pump in about two days. It really isn't that hard, but just don't try Crazy immediately. Start on normal, and then progress as you see fit.

And about being good at both, I can still pass X-treme Vook of the War Crazy, PSM, and DeleriumEx at any time.

And remember, speed mods are your friend.

I completely converted from DDR to PIU, and I like PIU a thousand times better. However, it took me like a month to match my skill at PIU with DDR.

I'm a DDR player and I just bought the Korean PIU mat combo box ofline. I playd pump it up on a technomotion machine and likes it- so now I'm going to have PIU to ad to all my other DDR dance games, even though they are different. I like DDR a lot. But I'm afraid I might like PIU better... but there are no PIU machines around here! disgust.gif

Man, I am decent at DDR but PIU is way too hard for me. It's so similar, but so different. I can't get used to it.
