There's a PIU machine in an arcade and it goes sh*tty on me and won't accept my quarters and I'm like "The machine's broken, it took my cash, please get my cash back." He goes in, trying to fix the machine and NEVER GIVES ME MY GOD DAMN CASH!

Been pretty lucky since not many people play DDR here.
There's no coin line or anything like that, so I was playing (6 feet is my limit right now and I need to concentrate) and some twat steps in front of me to put enough credits in the machine to last like 10 goes. Naturally I fail.

He then goes on to bar-rape on a 7 footer, which was a nice touch.
Given that's the hardest song I've seen anyone do, despite my low level I practiced specifically up on some 8 footers at home so I can go back and own him.

1.People that dont crossover ... ever
2.People who ALWAYS say they can do better (I do sometimes but not ALL the time)
3. Bar raping songs below 7 (witch doctor and waka laka are eights.. its okay to bar rape those) I just dont bar rape so I dont see the benefits of raping look to the sky true color mix.
4.people who say im going to die because I sweat alot, im usually not tired persay just a little heavy (oh pun! I play on heavy) lungs of a god! legs of steel! Body of a whale....)=

Not sure why you'd have a problem with that

1) People talking to me while playing. Solution: Ignore them, or begin to make swinging arm motions threateningly close to their face.

2) Other people trying to mess with my pad as I play. Solution: being to stomp with back of heel, so that if their foot is there, there's hundreds of pounds of force being exerted over a small area (their toes).

3) Slutty 14-year-olds who think they're "turning me on" by playing Basic-Trick with little-to-no clothing, simply becuase I watch them play (I watch everyone, no matter how good/bad they are). Solution: begin explaining the technical merits of the game's source code, or otherwise use complex sentence syntax incorporated with difficult, multisyllabic words. Suddenly, I'm nowhere near as attractive as they first thought. E13.gif

I never realized how easier songs are when you crossover. I was a double-stepper for a LONG time

I played for so long once you could take my shirt and ring it out. But everything you posted there was exactly correct.

I'll admit, I double-step a lot of everything that has a complex crossover pattern (by complex, I mean I can't look at and figure out off the top of my head), such as Rhythm & Police, exotic ethnic, A (Oni). I just envision myself getting horribly dizzy/disoriented from certain patterns (Healing Vision ~Angelic Mix~ comes rapidly to mind).

I really haven't experienced anything bad with my arcade suprisingly.... Myabe it's just because I'm new to the arcade (I do it at home a lot), but last time I did it I got a few claps and the "woah" comments.

My only problem I've still had at the theatre other than the one time someone messed with a friend on the other pad is the Crossover Nazi. All he does is complain about anyone who doesn't crossover. I intentionally avoid crossing over just to mess with him now. I can read crossovers just fine. But I doublestep because it helps me build stamina and I find it more fun if you can time it right on crossovers, as it seems almost like a tap-dance routine of some sort.

But the Crossover Nazi is "the best"...even though he's not even the best player in the county, he tries to act like he is...he also thinks that anything that he doesn't do is "gay"...because his routine is the *only* way to do things. If you're not doing songs the way he does it, it's because "you are gay" and "you suck and look terrible"...gimme a break.

I got him to fail on Waka Laka because he got cocky and tried it on 1.5, Reverse, Flat and wasn't ready for the trip-jumps. It was beautiful. He then went on to say that "the song is gay and no fun because you can't dance to it"...man, I love that guy.

My pet peeves relating to this are:

1 People who say the Arcade pads suck! All because they don't put enough of a tap into them, and how at home they can pass a song easily because foam pads are better! frust.gif [That's all I heard from my brother for an entire year. He NOW agrees Arcade pads are best]

2. Arcade managers/owners who refuse to clean the pads. Seeing everyone playing stomping the hell outta them, because they have no choice since it will not register otherwise. *Cough* PLAYDIUM IN MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO *Cough*

3. When being curtious and letting people behind you go after you've had your turn. Then they don't return the favour and hog the machine for an hour . disgust.gif

4. Idiots who try the game their first time. Fail and then say "What a stupid game, this game sucks!"

5. People who complain about options in DDR being for newbs? It's there to use!!! I very much dislike going to a DDR machine and seeing the first thing a person does is lean back on the bar. I dislike that a lot actually. But I'm not going to say someone sucks because they use it, they use it clearly because they need to. Much like the guys who stand in the middle hunched over, who try to hit as many arrows with little movement as possible. [I believe the term is called flat footing?] While they're allowed to do that, it doesn't mean they look good doing it either (Although I'm not going to tell them of my opinion, I'll just play the way I like to). I personally think that if you flow nicely through a song (Or even doing some routine), and your timing rocks and you're not using a bar, you rock! I mean... the pads do say the Captain Falcon line "Show me your moves", right?

6. Also those who act cocky in DDR. It's just a game remember that. There is a difference between being competitive and being an buttocks hat.

I absolutely loathe it when I see some tool A an 8-or-9-footer and then engage in a celebratory make-out with his homely girlfriend on the bloody stage. Has anyone else seen this kind of idiocy? Bleh.

Mostly what you guys/girls said, but when I go, there's NOONE so I get da machine ALL to myself! (Yet pads are in bad shape & is set on Hardest.....*coughmaltshopcough*) But I had an experience(Sorry, It was DDR Extreme for PS2)
When I play DDR Extreme, we have a projector(big screen though!), so sometimes people block the beam on purpose or walk in front of us(I ran & kicked him before the song started). But what REALLLLLY made me mad was when they made me mess up by stepping on the arrows(Got revenge) & other people leaving their shoes on the arrows.(Revenge also)frust.gif
But I found it cute & frustrating at the same time when my 3-year-old sis tries to play with me at the arcade(She BEGS to play with me at home! I shall teach her with all my DDR knowledge nerd.gif )
But 1 time when I was in 6th grade(NEVER played DDR.... frown.gif ) I payed & was going to try it for the 1st time, but something happened (Something I chose) So this guy jumps on & tries to play it! But happily, he paid me back

So I'm playing singles right? (normally I'd play doubles but--whatev) and this guy comes up on the other pad and starts shouting at me, "LEFT RIGHT UP DOWN UP RIGHT...blah blah blah..." and basically made a fool of himself. I was about ready to pull out my .45 and shoot him in the head when he left. (and then possibly go to work on him. E1.gif )

I tell you, I was an angry little irishman.

What really pisses me off is that everybody watches the beginners (at least where i go) and pay no attention to the people who are actually good (like me)

Also, people say that they can do better than you and then they blow a stage, and keep on hogging the machine, when they really can't do better than you.

Finally, i like people watching, but too many people that crowd you... that's another story because it's harder to put them out of your head and then you mess up.

I had the opposite happen a couple weeks ago... bunch of kids silently watching... then when we picked the song, came a loud groan. Just as annoying...

Actually my friend told me this once that he knows some dude that plays on light but is always wanting a crowd but plays songs on light and only on light.

Now that is the definition of an attention whore.
