ok...im seriously thinking about buying a metal pad...but before i do so i have a few questions i wanna ask...
1) will it hurt my feet if i play on it barefoot(or do i HAVE to wear shoes, or just socks)?
2) how long do they last?
3) i am somewhat of a begginer still (i can do most standard and some heavy) is it worth it, or should i wait until i am better?
4) what is the best metal pads, and how much is it?
5) what are your expiriences with metal pads |

Guess what? Wrong forum!
And guess what else?
Even if you posted that in the correct forums this would be locked.
Why?
Because you couldve looked at the various metal pad threads.
Good job! |

1. Not as long as you're careful, but you have to be pretty careful to not get hurt playing barefoot (socks are better, double layer of socks would probably be best if you don't want to play in shoes)
2. Metal pads, when made correctly, last years at the least. Ideally, it should last as long as you have interest in the game, and preferrably longer.
3. It is never too early to get a metal pad, as long as you know you're going to stay with the game. It can be a hefty investment at times, though, so make sure you're going to stay in for the long run. To justify the cost of a CF, you're going to have to play at least 1000 songs before it dies.
4. It depends on personal preference. From what I've read, Cobalt Flux is the best pad for sensitivity and durability, but they come nowhere near close to arcade pads in design (they are releasing an upgrade kit soon to fix this, though). Plus, you get bragging rights for owning one. RedOctane's Afterburner is one of the best arcade-style pads, and is comparable to a Flux in durability and response, although lesser-known. Also, as it's a new product, it may or may not have flaws somewhere. Another thing to note is that neither pad is particularly friendly toward the average user's budget.
Although they may not be able to take a whole SUV like a Flux can, one of the best options is to either use existing designs or create your own, and build a metal/wooden pad yourself. Besides being able to claim that you are a true DDR freak for doing so, it's relatively easy, and cheap as well (I have the materials to make two full pads with RipTide's design), which cost me about $150 total.)
5. My main experiences with metal pads are just playing the ones at the arcades. I've never played a non-arcade metal pad myself, which is probably why I obsess over them and know all this.

Cookie-cutter posts don't answer every question in existence, thanks. There were personal opinions asked in this thread, and that means it's perfectly valid. |

This thread is perfectly valid, but it doesn't change the fact that it is posted in the wrong forum.
Should be here.
Problem solved.
I win. |

Just look at the titles of the various forums. "Bemani Controllers" is pretty self-explanatory. _________________
