Since you are still a beginner I suggest DDR EXTREME.

I bought my DDR a while ago, but I don't get much time to play. I as well, am still on light. But have fun with it.

My first scores were all D's and C's, because as I first started light after beginner, I was concerned only about passing the song, not my grade. Now, I have been re-playing songs, and almost every time I get a B or an A. It's great because it shows I am really improving. Plus, there were other one's I couldn't pass at all. Just yesterday I tried them again and really, they weren't hard.

I have been having a harder time with 1/8th steps and U/D L/R combos. However now, I still may not be perfect with them, but I can pass songs with these steps in them consistently.

Trust me, I didn't think I would ever improve. But it just happens. You don't even realise you have gotten better until that A pops up on the screen. Don't give up.

I tried jumping to standard too, and I managed to get a few songs, but I decided I had better go back to light until I am really comfortable I should move on.

If you're already bored with songs that you can't even pass on Standard, maybe you don't have the patience that it's going to take to get better at this game.

Play Witch Doctor standard until you can pass it.

Once you can do this, almost all of the light songs become cakewalks.

Just practice practice, but this is what I did.

I started at lights right away, and just kept going them, moving up to 4 footers rather quickly. Then I started looking for any 4 foot standards (there are a few out there.) and the occasional 5 footer so I could break my 1/8th note steps in and get consistancy going. The only way to get 1/8th notes is to push yourself into playing songs that have those in them. When I felt comfortable, I moved to 6 foot standards.

To break into Heavy I looked for any slower BPM 6 footers, then moved up to 7 and then to 8. At an 8 footer level you will probably hit a road block because the jump to 9 can be rather large in alot of cases, this is the point where stamina becomes a concern.

Then comes the jump to 10 footers which will take ALONG time. They are a whole different ball game and honestly if this game stopped at 9 foot and gave 10 footers the rating X I think it would do it justice. E13.gif

Do what I do, don't care what other people think E1.gif

When I practice my freestyle, sometimes I look like an ass, but it pays off... besides, if people laugh, I just own them with PA laugh.gif

But seriously, just practice and have fun!

Just practice man it takes awhile. Also what type of pad are you using? How long have you been playing? Just cause you can pass mostly every song on light doesn't mean your ready if your barely passing them. Try to get all A's on light songs before moving to standard. If you tell a bit more about your situation I could help a bit more. Most of all screw people at the arcade if they have to make fun of some one to get a laugh they are losers, their life will end bad lol.

Just keep practicing. Playing @ an actual DDR machine can also take some getting used to. The arrows and such feel differeent than at home. Just keep practicing and you'll get it. Good luck
