I was thinking about buying a PS2 (I only have X-Box) and setting up like a bemani house (kinda like pockethouse) for DDR, Pop'N Music, Karaoke Revolution, and possibly ParaParaParadise. Is ParaParaParadise worth it? I've read quite a few of the pages from this thread and a lot of ya'll are saying that PPP is dead, and then some of ya'll are saying that it's awesome! Also is there only one mix for PS2? Are there any other mixes for ANY system or are the rest just in the arcade? Also one last question, are there any simulators for PPP? Thanks for any and all help!

Unfortunatly the only way to tell if it's worth it is try it yourself. You could just pick up the sensors and game, yes there is only one game, from ebay, usually around $70, if you really want to try it or just find an arcade that has it. PPP the game itself is dead but the parapara dancing is not.

http://www.konamijpn.com/products/parapara/index.html

I will say this, if you have a lot of friends that enjoy music games then PPP would be a nice addition because it makes a great party game.

I find PPP to be a great party game, anyone can play, and it's so much fun to watch that you don't really mind if people laugh. And we normally pick that over DDR/IIDX/Pop'n/KM as well. The game is dead in the sense that there will be no new cabinets made, similar to DDR. As long as you play, it won't really disappear.

Yes it sad that the game is dead but velfarre and twinstar never stopped making routines (well twinstar did because it closed) and now starfire is making official routines aswell.

Satoko left the velfarre parapara team, it is spectulated that she will either retire from parapara in general or she will be the leader of the new generation of ParaPara Allstars

I've been playing PPP recently and I've found it to be more fun than IIDX and DDR. I can kinda play the game in any way I wish, and I'm not being forced to tap rectangles 600 times a minute while scratching at the same time, nor is my movement restricted to stamping my feet on four panels the same way other people do.

Plus the soundtrack is so much better than DDR. I'm a big fan of Super Eurobeat, though I can't decide whether IIDX or PPP has better songs.

Too bad this game didn't last too long though. I want Mon Amour, Supernight, Beat of the Rising Sun, and Speedy Speed Boy on PPP, dammit!

Of course some people will label me, a straight man, gay, for liking something like PPP. I don't care. Their problem, not mine's.

ParaPara is my life!
anyways... yeah, ParaPara is a good game, and although it might be much to get the game (controller included) and a Japanese PS2, I strongly advise it. Its so fun! I love memorizing the routines. My favorite is velfarre 2000. Is it just me or are the girls in Energy Love and Anniversary TOO happy... I think thats the only reason I can't seem to play those songs correctly... oh well.. frown.gif

Long live the ParaPara AllStars!

Also, might anyone know where I could find OTHER dance routines on the internet for ParaParaing? I don't have a machine close to anywhere I live, and I've not played any other songs than the ones on the first game (although I do DDR and ParaPara at the same time sometimes ^-^)

I guess no one told you that the PPA disbanded about 3 years ago >_>

As for videos and such try CDJapan.co.jp for the DVDs or JPopHelp and Ebay, do a such for ParaPara Paradise and ParaPara Panic
Also Toshiba-EMI released a parapara VHS which has songs from labels such as Saifam (Lucyfer,Tipsy & Tipsy and such) and LED Records (Hot Limit, God Of Romance and yadda yadda yadda) and some Smile.Dk and Bambee are there too E1.gif

Also I can help u out with some vids if you hit me up on aim

I know they disbanded. haha. But oh well. I've seen the new "ParaPara girls". They went on tour with Yoko Ishida (if anyone knows who she is). They weren't really what I expected, but they were cool.

If PPP is such a underground hit, why not make an ITG style fan made mix?

Because nobody has managed to make a driver that will properly recognize the PPP controller, let alone an entire game.

Okay, I've got to ask. Is the game's controller for PS2 not being manufactured anymore or something? I can't find one for the life of me online.

Your best hope is Ebay!
I was on there the other day looking for old videogames and I happened to see that there was somebody actioning or selling a PPP bundle; it had 2 controllers and the game for abou $130. Ebay usually has sellers just selling controllers if that's all you need too.

I can't remember how I got my controller, but they're out there, and yes Ebay is the best place.

I was browsing through the forums and there was an argument on the Taiko thread about ParaPara. I felt so sorry for the Paralist, this guy was bad mouthing ParaPara because he thought it was a waste of a music game. I don't think he had ever seen the videos...

I really want to ParaPara on a machine sometime....
