This really is making me sick to my stomach. I have been waiting for this moment for about 3 years now.And no, i have no problem waiting till 2006. Now my girlfriend wont have to embarass herself when she goes into gamestop and asks for a BM controller(again) ."what is beatmania?" _________________

The person asking if they should start with JP IIDX... you should start with 6th. It has Drill Mode, which was the main reason I learned as fast as I did. If you finish the first 2 sets of Drills, you could probably skip right over Light7 and go into easy 7keys stuff. |

I think that the current known songlist *IS* a tad on the easy side, but it's great for a "first"/"beginners" mix. I look forward to buying and supporting Beatmania (US) (it's still weird to say/type that, heh). _________________

This announcement came out of left field. I would have never of thought of beatmania actually being released in the US. I'll probably pick up this first rendation as well. It's about danm time that konami recognised that more bemani besides DDR and karaoke revolution needed to be released here. I wonder what strings Jason Enos had to pull to make this happen?
I will eventually get all of IIDX myself, but I'm so absorbed into playing pop'n music that getting anything else almost seems laughable at the moment.
I'm still quite happy about this announcement. Thank you Konami!!!

*sigh* I suppose I should pick this up as well. I've always supported the CS bemani, even (gulp) ddr extreme. It will be kinda funny to see the look on some of my friends faces should they pick this game up and invite me over. "Kyle, this game came out like yesterday, how'd you get so good?!" _________________

Oh man.
Oh man.
Oh man Oh man Oh man.
I have to have it.
and I honestly hope the 5key side of the game (if it isn't all 5key) isn't bad, cause I LIKE 5key, and still have a 5key controller. I also hope the domestic IIDX controllers they release aren't bad...
Oh yea, my friend Ken mentioned that the video there is Star Field. |

Sweet action.
Looks like 9th Style's interface. Which I heartily endorse!
Maybe we might get some...American licenses? That would be great.

Actually there is going to be 7key in this game cause I a few screenshots over at IGN. I hope konami brings over the IIDX asc's here in the US that way I don't have to spend lots of shipping charges and it will save me $$.
Though by the time the US beatmania comes out IIDX RED CS would probably be out as well before or after. _________________

Just as a shameless self promotion. If anyone here lives in the north-east us area, I work at an rcade called Tokyo Game Action. We currently have a Beatmania IIDX 11th -RED- machine at our arcade. If anyone has wanted to try this out feel free to stop by. $20 for all the play / practice you would like. We also have a copy of ALL of the beatmania IIDX (JP) PS2 games in stock aswell as the standard $100 controllers and the delux $500 ASC controllers. So if you are looking to get a head start on the game / getting a controller stop by or PM me. |

W-O-W!!!!!!!
You know, I was just thinking a few days ago...
"no matter how little Konami cares about DDR any more... no matter how much the future DDR releases suck... there will always be more IIDX."
This only makes it even better. Long live IIDX! Maybe I'll grab a 2nd controller for Doubles!

Hmm. :> 'Bout damn time.
It's a bit wierd that the four 5-Key Beatmania songs that showed up in the screen shots are on the 5-Keys Mode song select... :>
Maybe there will be songs only available for that mode? D: (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. ) _________________

I'm with Ryu_Hirakashi on this one. I never would have expected this to happen either. I love Beatmania, but Konami in general didn't seem too interested in making a Beatmania console game for the U.S. I hope it does have 5-key mode, since I first got into Beatmania with 5-key, but I won't be horribly disappointed if it doesn't. Song list is looking awesome so far. I wonder what kind of controller they'll bring out with it. I hope it's at least the Konami IIDX controller. |

I would find it very safe to assume that Konami will be releasing the standard Konami controller here, since there are no 3rd party ones as of yet and I'm sure Konami wouldn't mind the extra cash they make on the officials. I bet there will prolly be a bundle set of the game aswell. |

On the controllers, I've heard that they are going to rework the KOC controller and release it here. I don't know exactly WHAT they will rework, but apparently they will rework it. |

They will prolly do adjust the buttons so the users wont have to do a button mod to make the controller more responsive. |

They will do nothing to the controller, just like Taiko Drummaster. |

WTF? When in hell does Taiko no Tatsujin have to do with Beatmania? Taiko no Tatsujin was released by NAMCO and Beatmania is being released by KONAMI. What does the PS2 Taiko have anything to do with this discussion? |
