If the bar was not meant to be used at all, it wouldn't be there. I doubt it's there for decoration, since it'd be one funny looking decoration. |

Use it if you want to...your money.
I use it to help my PA on certain songs. I can PASS every non-10 no bar, but my PA is generally better when I use the bar.
Example in point:
Without the bar, I get like...100 greats on EOTC
With it, I recently AAed it with 40 greats.
In CASUAL play, there is no point to using it. But if you're a PAer or a tourney player, using the bar can help. _________________

But I agree on the fact that people shouldn't use the bar unless it's 8 or U... and even some 8s you can pass without it...
~shrugs~
I'll get back to you on the bar thingy tommorow night or before the end of the week. |
I can pass every 9-footer (AA's on most of them) and almost every 10-footer in DDR, and I have never used the bar, nor do I intend to...ever. Just don't use it, it takes all the endurance and coordination aspects out of playing. |

I don't use the bar. I don't know if it's from home experience, but I find that simply standing straight up and moving your feet is easier than holding on to and leaning against a bar. The only time I'd use the bar is if I was going to mount it (get on it and jump off when the arrows come), and I've only done that once. _________________

I've recently started using the bar... after I could pass some 11s and 12s on In the Groove, and FC some 10s on ItG and DDR. The bar makes some things slightly less tiring, but 10+s still totally wear me out, bar or not.
Mostly, I find it helps me with fast jumps, and sometimes with fast runs, but not really. The first time I beat The legend of MAX I held the bar only for the first half. I couldn't reach the freeze without the bar, but I couldn't get through the 1/8th note runs with the bar.
The bar helps and hurts in different ways. There are some things it helps, and thus it is easier to use the bar, but don't act as though the bar fixes everything. _________________

Uhhh...if he has a better score then you then all the more power to him.
Graduation Beginner is harder to me with the bar, but if it wasn't, I'd use it too. _________________

If he AAAs it with the bar and you merely AA it, why would there be a problem with that. _________________

To me your cousin and people who are like that are just being immature morons. I say WHO CARES if they need to use the bar let them. What does them using the bar have to do with your life? If it helps them let them be. I use the bar for some 8-10 footers cause it helps me not get as tired and gives me a better perfect attack. If anyone made a comment on me using the bar I'd finish up my turn then punch the person in their face. _________________

the way i look at it, only people playing ddr should use the bar and no one else. Use the bar on begginer if you need to, after all, you payed for the game. |

I'm pretty sure that part in the manual means not to use it to hold your whole body weight. A lot of people that bar rape just hold on to it for better control and stability, not quite for weight support. _________________

That manual also precludes heel-toe, stomping and ten footers. _________________
