i dont remember that windshield wiper thing offhand, i'll have to view the clips after i get off work tonite.

that "robot dance" video is of David "Elsewhere". its like 5 years old. and it has nothing to do with robotting (yah, what would one expect from ebaumsworld anyways?).

for more information on him, visit his crews website:

I would very much appreciate that tutorial on glides and slides kai biggrin.gif, also how do I get the illdill tutorial? Is soulseek a site or something?

As for botting, I'm greatly improving now. I'm pretty good at the hydraulic botting, just gotta think up a theme for my bot and work on it! biggrin.gif

Oh hell yeah...Elsewhere is incredible (as is that VW commercial =).

- One of several glide guides I found, probably the best

The illdill tutorial is here for those who want it. It's long, but definitely worth having.

yah, Bitsmart's always had a way with words, he was a prominent Reflective member at one point, but he kinda faded a few years ago...i wonder if he's still dancing?

and yah, IllDill's tutorial totally blows mine away, thanks for providing the link captaincanada.

pretty good jing.

a few things i noticed:

fingers during waving--they look like theyre just wiggling, work on some digitz. waving through the fingers can make sense, not just randomly moving them around like most strictly funk stylists do.

horizontal movement: you've got your vertical levels well covered, but there wasnt much horizontal movement there, especially with the bed in the way. E10.gif remember, boogaloo sam describes boog as a mostly "horizontal dance."

tut combinations were good, but you're focused on the arms, when you have an entire body to work with. good integration with inner and outer tutting though, most people stick with one and go with it, but you had a good vocabulary for both.

beat freakin: you played with the beats, and played with the rhythm, but there are times when its difficult to see the transitions between the two.

keep it up.

Whoa, nobody's posted on here in a few days... Anyways, so I'm getting better at glides, still having trouble moonwalking, but I guess thats to be expected... With the robot, I'm having trouble holding certain parts of my arms still while moving others... Any other specific moves/styles? (ie: robot, gliding, etc.)

Thanks much mates!

Practice Practice Practice.

I run into loads of people on forums that are asking questions "how do you do this, how come i can't do that..etc.." and they've only been trying it for like 5 minutes. PRACTICE.

ddrfreak needs a  emoticon.

ive been at this for 4 years and i STILL suck.

normally i would say dont expect to get better overnight, however ive come to find that in dancing, a lot of progress comes "eureeka" style, in that one day after doing the same thing for months and months...the concept just hits you like a ton of bricks and you say "NOW I GET IT!!!"

in the Liquid community we call them "plateaus."

On Max300 I turn off the freezes. When the big freeze comes I do it and stand on the bar. Then I come back down. Last time I slipped and almost broke my arm, though. disgust.gif

BTW Ronald McDonald has some pretty mad freestyling skillz.

Just encoded some footage of this late night tag-team freestyle session from Fanimecon 2005...included are myself, VHG, Reign, Wendell, Mel, kay0ss, XXXPlicit, and a guy I never got the name of. Most of us were pretty buzzed, and needless to say, it was good times.

NorCal Tag Team Improv - Long Train Runnin
NorCal Tag Team Improv - Spin the Disc

Sadly, off the pad opportunities were few and far between that weekend...and the dance the con threw flat-out SUCKED. Oh well. =p

So, it's been a very long time since I've done any freestyling of any sort since Freestyle is completely dead here in Ohio, but I was wondering where a lot of the old videos (or if any new ones) were being kept these days.

I want to get back into it, and it's good to see the Cali crews doing videos again (including the two NorCal Freestyle TagTeam vids that are up). Is there any major site or any place where their being kept, or someone I could keep in contact with so I can get my hands on them?

Also, one more thing. Is it true that freestyle's making a comeback out in Cali?
