Actually SM is harder than DDR when you get to the really hard songs like Blur and Reality and such.

SM is harder than DDR because SM lets you use a keyboard, which spawns a whole new level of difficulty for songs. DDR only lets you use your feet (arcade).

I like stepmania because it's a good way to judge the difficulty of a song before you go to the arcade and spend your tokens. Plus after a long day of dancin' it's cool for me and my friends to cram around my comp and kill my keyboard.... erm.gif poor keyboard....

I don't feel a sort of shame or disgust to it I guess

On the home versions of ddr you could play with controller... erm.gif
But I like Stepmania more becuase it allows 64th notes and the like! E13.gif

1. get all ddr packs
2. hook pad to computer using adapter
3. use s-video or something else to hook up comp to tv
4. fix judging and timing to arcade style

Trust me, you will love it for ever and ever *rainbow*

Not in the edit mode! I think DDR only goes to 32nd or 24th
So I don't think there are 48 or 64!

I love it just fine. For me it's practically a 4-button IIDX. I couldn't be happier. Who needs to play with their feet??

I've been playing with my feet for three years, but now it's time just use my fingers.

It is DDR. There are 4 arrows, and you step on them in time with the music. Looks like DDR to me!

If you are that concerned about it, don't play it. Play a home version on XBOX or PS2.

As far as satisfaction goes, consider SM your practice and the AC your "real" scores.

Hey, what about us keyboarders. Playing SM with your feet can't even compare to playing the keyboard stuff. There is a lot of stuff that people make that is just brilliant for keyboard.

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm a one handed keyboarder myself. Love playing the KBMP and the 9-10's.

I just prefer playing on feet, because that's what I do.

Feet>Keyboard(but just barely, IMO) E1.gif

DDR, Stepmania, ITG, Pump it Up.....It really is meant to be played with your feet. You can sit and play any game with a keyboard or controller. Im 33 and can still manage to get up there....LOL....
I do play some stepmania on my keyboard just for the fun of it. I can do Heavy on more with keyboard....hehehe

Yes I find it quite enjoyable seeing as you get to have a greater choice of songs(which I find enhances the experience). Also the feature of hooking up a dance pad and playing it like ddr, and last but not least if you know how(and have the progams)make your own sim files.
