daitenshi, nice pics and nice pads
TEST SONG??? I dont find MAX300 on heavy with a AA to be very testy...

The soldering is all done on my pad and all the buttons work.. except for the push button select... Need to look into that

I gotta tell you guys, cutting plexiglass by hand can be a doggy.

I spent half an hour cutting one piece, and managed to crack it half way through. Im having nightmares about that plastic. frust.gif

considering you didnt read any of the previous 200 pages...( laugh.gif riiight.gif)

you can put the pad on anything u want, as long you can get like a controller or pad for either ps2/xbox or a PC usb thing...some one (cant rmr who) made his for his PC...look back for it, itll be useful

daitenshi--those are good pads...and max 300 heavy AA..not really a "test" song for me either...

and my pad is *almost* done...(riptide design)

i have to attach the ground wire to to the arrows, put the corner brackets on, and attach everything to the wireless dance pad cirucuit board (altho i really want to get a nice WIRED one tho)..ya i broke off one of the sensor things that transmits the signal... riiight.gif disgust.gif

anyway..i really have to say that wiring everything seems to be ALOT easier in riptides design and

Yes, wiring can be very hard. I almost did it well on my first try, except that I soldered start and select to the wrong spots. So that needed resoldering and now the select does not work... I need to open up my pad again and fix it.

OT: Can someone tell me if DAMDARIRAM is on DDRMAX2? I have MAX and EXTREME for PS2, and Im debating if I want to get it... I really like that song laugh.gif

xbox
ultramix
ultramix2

ps2
max
max2
extreme

ya my wiring to the circuit board was really good, i might get pics if they arent blurry
the wiring was messed up at the screw part...took me a long time frust.gif

all ive got to do now is either replace my 1/2" ply with the thin plex on it to the 1/4" ply and the same plex

and then tighten all the corner brackets...
and probably polish the whole pad becuz it looks like crap.. disgust.gif
i still havnt tried it out yet tho riiight.gif

pics over the weekend more than likely

BTW, does anyone have the Riptide videos? The one site that's hosting them hasn't been up for a few weeks, so I was just curious. I've got a bit of space to host them, if you want another mirror...

i got the vids now, thanks to Ulala. E1.gif

ya i noticed that about his site...i wanst EVER able to dl them, but i wish i could have when i started

my pad is all wired, and i tested it on a few songs..just a couple problems
1) the down arrow is a lil sticky
2) all the arrows are too easy to get to register
3) wire all the other buttons

other "minor" things i still need
1) put the arrow graphic in
2) polish the whole pad

i think thats about it

klott- Not having access to a jigsaw at the time (and I'm impatient) I cut and ground all my glass with my dremel! It took like ninety years!

I made this new pad so I could play ITG, so I had to make sure it could handle harder stuff... The riptide design seems to be perfect for what I intended!

Here's a tip. Get a knife and make a cut on the plexi down the line you want to make. Go over it a few times, and then secure one half of the plexi with some clamps, having the other side go over a table. Then just snap it off!
A little dangerous and not good for breaking big pieces of plexi, but it sure does work. That will save you TONS of time than doing it by hand or with a dremel.

I tried the dremel, the only problem is that since it spins, it can move off the line you're making... not too good.

i want my dam dariram...

I made a l,ine with my knife, then dremeled it about halfway to three quarters through and then snapped... thing that took me the longest was trimming everything to fit perfect..

I cut my 1/4" plexyglass with my circular saw. You have to make sure the plexy is sitting flat on top of a piece of plywood, particle board..ect. You dont want it to be able to move and vibrate. It will crack. Make the blade depth to where it will JUST cut through the plexy. Ive done it several times and have never had a problem. Use a guide screwed down in the correct place and move fast......Its easy, quick and worth the time setting up.

Guys, I don't mean to be mean or anything, but every question that has been asked (with the exception of one or two) in the last 4 pages has been answered before, or on ddrhomepads website ( www.angelfire.com/d20/ddrhomepad. This thread is beginning to get very redundant, and I'm sure everyone (*cough*stoli*cough*) is tired of answering the same things over and over and over again.

YES!!

i finally got the pad working perfectly, except that u CANT play it with shoes for some reason.. disgust.gif oh well

im fitting the other piece of plex to make it even with the base/board now

once i get that, i think ill only have to make the other buttons in a box, and possibly add more weatherstripping (i think thats why i cant use my shoes now)

yes, i really want to thank riptide and his videos..
if you're just starting a pad, make SURE u get them.

surfreak--um...u said that the questions are answered on the website, but im sure that people like asking people what exactly to do, so they dont screw it up..like i did at first disgust.gif

and i know that NO ONE wants to look thru 200 pages of old forum stuff.
i vaguely rememeber someone, maybe u, said to make a FAQ kinda thing with basics on the pad..its a really good idea

dont get me wrong..ddrhomepads site is REALLY good; in fact thats what inspired me to build mine E4.gif

and poor stoli..

i need to write something..i will if i have time. E7.gif

Thanks to slvrshdw, I was able to get the Riptide vids, and I've got some space available to me, so let's see how long I can offer them without crippling my provider E1.gif

awesome. Im downloading the vids right now. I cant wait to get a hold of them. Once i do, I will provide them to other people who need them. And ill understand stuff more so i will be able to actually help people instead of making vague guesses from what other people have told me.

Anyways, thanks for the videos. Thats all.
