With the due respect, may I ask you what song could guys play to impress you? I ask only because I wanna get better at the arcades. Here's your chance to set a standards for me and my friends Mike and Micheal who both swear they are the best out of the four of us. _________________

Like... 3.9/4th of girls want you for looks and money... I should know.. I have none of that and Im an anti-babe magnet.. heck.. even ugly chicks hate me haha. |
I think, based off of your post, that it's because you lack self-confidence. If you don't like yourself, a girl will know it and she won't like you either!
Self-confidence can go a long way in presenting your own personality and charm.
When I met my husband, he was out of work, was in debt, and was overweight. He still was the funniest, sweetest, most charming man I had ever met. He left roses underneath my car's windshield wipers....
In high school, yes, there are heavy social cliques due to peer pressure. This tends to go away once you reach college, especially large state collegs, because quite simply, there are too many people for everyone to know everyone else and it becomes harder to form exclusive cliques. |

How about guys like me playing MAX 300, Unlimited and LoM heavy doubles now will that impress you? |
Impress me (or girls) in what way?
Yes, I will be impressed that you can do DDR on that level.
But will I want to date or socialize with you? Nope. Now a guy freestyling and making eye contact with his audience... that's a lot more expressive and charming than a guy spasming at the ddr pad.... |

Hows this a rumor? Who did you hear this from.. some random kid? lol.
I don't think most girls would like a guy because they play DDR.. most people who have never tried it think it's stupid.. including girls. _________________

While not anywhere near the best players in the country, some of my best friends at my arcade consistently AA/SDG 10's. My friend Louis is infamous for AAAing LoM/Max300, one of the highest Legend Road scores in existence (lower than MegamanX's but higher than any posted on Recall so far) and a Great and a Miss on PSMO, my friend Joe used to be one of the better ranked Doubles players in the country when NNR was up, and my friend Rob is disgustingly consistent, black flagging half of Extreme.
I think you should keep in mind that impressing females with DDR is kinda dumb, don't you think? I mean, if a girl isn't familiar with the game, she'll be impressed by anything. I am a female who is very familiar with the game, nowhere near the best in the country, but have a handful of SDG's, have about a 96.5% DP with more than half of Extreme submitted, and I've AAed PS. I consider them personal accomplishments but very weak in the general sense, and I don't consider myself good. If you wanna play all "omg, let's be all good to get girls' attentions" then play whatever. But keep in mind there are a few girls who take the game as seriously as guys, and trying to impress them with something like Max 300 would be like trying to impress just another guy.
If you're playing to impress, then you may be SOL since there are so many people who could spank you in the game (unless you're one of the tippy top players). If you concentrate on trying to challenge yourself to get better scores rather than be conscious of who's watching, you'll get better faster. If you're really serious about getting good, you'd set up a scorekeeping account in a journal or DD:Recall and start seeing how you do in comparison to everyone else, and gauging your progress on your average DP and whatnot. |

I agree with Rychan: there's more to a person than what video games they play. At first glance, people wouldn't know that I play RPG's religiously, am decent at first-person shooters, play Magic: TG, DnD, Exalted, Star Wars, RP on a SW fanforum, met my fiance on a FF Fan Forum, etc.
But likewise, some people don't do much else than play video games all the time. So maybe video games are who they are... or something. *Looks around* o.ô _________________

Can't women and men accept the fact that some of us are hardcore gamers. Everyone goes on and on about their hobbies and expects the world to listen. Maybe we should get a little respect too.
**back on topic**
I've always been good at DDR, but never did I ever use it to pick up chicks. Besides, most of the chicks that hang out at arcades are too young for me.
If I'm going to try to pick up a woman I'd rather rely on my charm and intelligence to win her over. I wouldn't mind if she was an anime fan, but that's all I'm asking for.
Oh, and don't think I'd start dating women in the old folks thread because I'm older than your average DDR player.

I respect the fact fine, because I'm a gamer too. My "hobbies" are all games, if you'll notice. I don't expect the world to listen, no. So yes, maybe I was in the wrong for going "off topic" ever-so-slightly.
But aren't you going a little off topic, too? The question was "Girls in general dig DDR" and yet you're going off about how you don't use DDR to pick up chicks because most are younger, you believe in courtship, whatever. Nowhere do I see your opinion on the "topic" either.

So I guess the last thing I'll add to this silly topic is that: Yes, some girls dig people who play DDR. And the other girls don't give a crap. _________________
