Do you have any burning questions as a gamer about the PS2 version of In The Groove? Red Octane is listening. Here's your chance to ask John Tam, producer of ITG for the PS2. _________________

Red Octane would like to know if you would like to submit some interview questions for John Tam, the producer for ITG.
We'll be asking some other sites to contribute questions as well, and John
will try to answer all the questions at once for everyone.
Anyway, if you'd like to join in, I'd suggest submitting about 20 questions-
they can cover anything you'd (and the fans) like to know, but of course, he can't answer everything.
For a deadline, how about this Friday?
___
So, post your questions here as a reply to this thread, and we'll send them off to John. Ask and ye shall (hopefully) receive...a reply. Also check out his interview with IGN first before posting questions here for John. Finally, it's OK if everyone posts more than 20 questions here. We'll send them all to Red Octane and John will choose which ones he'll answer. So, fire away! _________________

Where there any obstacles you ran into while transforming an arcade game into a console game? Where there any changes made to make ITG more console-friendly? |

Did the arcade game's success surprise you in any way, or were you expecting success in the first place? |

^ That's a good one. What will the 4 Console "preview" songs be? And will the unlock system be the same as its arcade counterpart? _________________

will the ps2 controller setup be the same as ddr home version controls?
IE; up-triangle, down-X,left-square, right O?
it may not be important to some but i play that way at home lol, it helps me get better in the arcade. |

Were there any issues porting over the arrow and music timing to the console? I assume that the game has been play-tested on many different pads and that there are ways to adjust the timing if necessary. My copy of Max JP collects dust because of these types of timing issues. _________________

When DDR 4th Mix Arcade came out Konami USA finally released a US Console version. Since ITG came as an upgrade in the arcade for previous DDR Mixes do you think selling a console version will boost it's hype and create more ITG upgrades and locations throughout the world? |

Were there any specific reasons why ITG was made for PS2 instead of Xbox? _________________

Did the inclusion of E-Rotic in the game make the ESRB rating of the game possibly change? _________________

What is the status of the USB memory card support on the Ps2, and why was it "given up on"?
How will the profile feature work?
When is the official release date of the game? _________________

Will ITG support any type of dance pad for the PS2? Will there be any exclusive hard pads made for ITG? |

Is ITG going to be readily available in Canadian retail stores, or will it only be available as an import from RedOctane? _________________

Since you dont need any button association or controller ID (As in, if you play Pop'N music on a pop'n controller, three of the D pad buttons are held down), and its just UDLR, Why would there be?
Do you still play DDR at all?
With your relationship with Andamiro, are you now worried about Konami? _________________

Why would there be an exclusive hard pad? I wanted to know if there would be an official hard pad like the impossible to find Konami metal pad that resembles the arcade, or something like that that would be exclusive for ITG. |

Ditto on that question.
How much work was involved porting ITG from Arcade/PC to the PS2? How much, if any did you have to sacrifice in the transfer? What were some things you had to leave out and why? |

Are you worried about how some of the songs will perform on a home version, on which there is no bar to hold for balance? Will this make some songs (notably stuff like Pandemonium) too much harder? |
